Chapter 6

 (Avery's Point of view)

I was sound asleep, all cuddled up in my covers peacefully resting in my nice warm bed. The sound of the rain lightly pitter pattereing on the roof, with a slight rumble from the thunderstorm now and then.

I was having the best dream ever. I was in a beautiful field covered in a variation of beautiful flowers ranging from every color imaginable. A couple miles away was a beautiful lake with swans swimming in it. The sight was breath taking. I was truly amazed by the scenery I wish I could take a picture and capture this forever. I then felt two muscular arms wrap around me I turned around to look and saw Mason smiling at me showing his pearly white teeth.

The way the sunlight was reflected on him made him look like a god. I was awe struck. I looked down at myself and noticed I was wearing this beautiful Light blue strapless dress with a black belt around my waist. I had a diamond necklace on with black high heels and dangling earrings. Mason was wearing a tux and man did he look good! Next thing I know I was spun around and kissing him. I broke apart to see a giant ball from the baby blue sky and land with thud.

I jumped startled awake from my so real dream. I was so confused wondering why I had that dream. I don't like him, right? We are just friends, nothing more. Still confused I took my finger and slowly dragged it against my lips. I kept reminding myself that it was just a dream and nothing really happened and it was, just a dream.

Then I heard another thud it sounded like it was coming from my window. I slowly sat up from my bed and looked at my alarm clock and saw it was 7:30 A.M. The noise came back again and I scurried to my window and opened it and looked around.

"Down here!" said a masculine voice.

I peered down and saw Mason standing there while his white V-neck started to become see through from all the rain.

"What do you want Mason?"

"Can I come in?" He asked.

"You woke me up at 7:30 in the morning to come in my house?"

"You could say that."

"Whatever hold on, let me get the door," I said

"No need for that." He stated

"Huh, then how are you going to get in," asked a hundred percent confused with what he was going to do next.

"Watch and learn from the master, Ave." He stated cockily.

A giggle escaped my mouth and I just had to roll my eyes at that comment. I crossed my arms and stood there wondering how he would get in without going in through the door. I watched as he swiftly climbed up my tree, crawled to the end of the longest tree branch and climbed through my window.

"Ta dah!" he said clearly proud in himself

"Wonderful," I said sarcasm evident in my voice, "but I still think the door would have been easier."

"You are just jealous because you are not as amazing as me!" Mason exclaimed

"Uhuh." I said “Well Mason, you keep telling yourself that I will not criticize because it is so obvious that you have such a low level of confidence in yourself." I replied my voice full of sarcasm.

"Is anyone home?" he asked

"No, my grandparents left this morning to go on a plane to London. Why?"

"Just wondering."

"Sure just wondering that’s all; you know curiosity killed the cat."

He turned around and looked at me with a smirk playing on his lips sending a chill down my spine. "That is it I had enough of you."

"Wha------"

I was then thrown over his shoulder with him running out of my bedroom and down the stairs.

"MASON, PUT ME DOWN NOW!!!!" I yelled

"Pay backs a bitch, Ave and you deserve it for being so mean to me." He teased

He unlocked my front door and took me outside in the pouring rain and took me off his shoulder, probably tired from all the pounding I did on his back and held me tightly in his arms as the rain soaked us.

"Was that really worth it, Mason, you got us both soaking wet." I asked teasing him.

"To see you freak out when rain hit you, then yes." he replied laughing.

After Mason was satisfied with himself we went back inside. I personally felt like a drowned rat. I changed into some dry clothes and I loaned Mason a pair of my grandpa's pajama pants and threw mine and his clothes in the drying. I put my hair in a messy bun and walked downstairs to meet Mason.

I walked into my living room to see a shirtless Mason in only pajama pants and man did he look good. I walked over to the couch and sat next to him trying to think of something besides him. I was worried he would catch me checking him out and started blushing at the thought,

"Why are you blushing Ave, never seen a guy this hot?" He asked teasing me

"That is so not why." I replied back quickly and I could feel my cheeks getting redder. Curse my blushing.

"Sure, sure, Ave, sure."

"Hey, Mason."

"Yep" he said popping the P.

"Why is it every time something happens to me you are always near?" I asked. I could tell I caught him off guard by my question.

'Well, I do not know maybe you just got lucky those few times."

"Mason, do you really expect me to believe that?" I asked

"It is the truth Avery." He sounded agitated

"Then how did you know I was in trouble at the super Market?"

"Well, I walked into the store and saw you running and a few guys that looked similar to the ones that were trying to find you that one night I was walking passed the club." He ran his fingers through his hair and I could tell he was nervous and hiding something from me, but could not figure it out."

"What if I was playing tag with those guys?" I asked

Mason just looked at me as if I had three heads and started laughing. "Let me get this you are trying to tell me you were playing tag with four guys who were all chasing you down the aisle with murderous expressions on their face, while you looked scared shitless running down the super markets isles?

"Yeah, forget I said that." I blushed a bright red.

"You’re cute when you blush Ave"

I could feel myself start to blush more and replied with a whatever.

He let out a soft chuckle and motioned for me to sit closer him.

"Come on Ave, scoot down closer; I promise I will not bite!" He joked

I scooted down closer to him and snuggled in his warm embrace watching SpongeBob.

"Really, SpongeBob?" I asked

"Of course, it’s the best show ever!" He replied

I laughed lightly

Only you Mason, Only you. I thought as I slowly slipped from reality.
