Chapter 22

(Avery's Point of View)

I walked into the competition holding onto Mason's hand. I did not want to let go of his hand anytime soon. His grip on my hand was reassuring.

"Avery, you are going to do amazing alright. Stop stressing I can feel your grip on my hand tightening." Mason told me soothingly.

"Sorry, I am just so nervous. I really want to do well!" I responded back.

"And you will do well. Just remember that I will be by your side for this whole dance, alright?" He told me.

"Okay." I took a deep breathe and took his hand to my changing room.

In this place every girl had a changing room which I thought was really nice. They were not the biggest, but gave us all the privacy we needed. Mason and I went into my changing room to put my bags down. Once we were in the changing room I was given, Mason and I sat on the plush red sofa together that was in there. I laid my head in his lap while he played with my hair.

The changing rooms were very nice compared to others I had been in. They were like a luxury changing room.  In the room there was a hand crafted wooden vanity on the right wall along with a small closet next to it. On the left wall was a plush red leather sofa.

Slowly, I got off of Mason's lap and fixed my makeup and hair so it would look perfect. The dance competition would be starting soon. I tried to push all my nerves away. The only thing I could think of that could calm my nerves some what would be to practice our routine.

"Mason, I am going to practice are you coming?"

"Of course Ave, lets go."

I exited my room with Mason in tow. I quickly sent a text to all the girls to come to practice room 11A. In return all the girls quickly responded back to me. I walked with Mason down the long wide, white painted hallway. My feet clunked along the marbled floor.

When I got to the practice room 11A I quickly began setting up my IPod and the speakers. I tied my black leather jazz shoes tightly and waited patiently for the dancers to get here. One by one they all come in not a minute later. We went over the dance over and over and over again. We did it till it was permanently etched into our brains. By the time we finished we did not look to pretty. So, I told the girls they had a half and hour to fresh in up and meet me at the backstage.

As the girls started to file out of the dance room I was putting everything away.Once I finished I grabbed my bag and slug it over my shoulder. I waited for Mason who walked up to me and laced are fingers together. We then walked all the way back to my dressing room together.

Mason then turned around and looked at me. "You will do amazing today Ave. I'll be here to support you every step of the way." Mason told me.

"Thanks Mase, that means a lot to me." I told him.

I then leaned up to Mason's height and gave him a light peck on the lips.

"That's all I get!" Mason said pretending to sound hurt and shocked.

"Yes that is, until we get to the dressing room... maybe." I respond back giggling.

"Such a tease." he responded.

Mason then looked up at me with this crazy, happy looking grin on his face. I was wondering what the hell was going on in that crazy head of his till he quickly picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. He than picked up speed and ran to my dressing room. I laughed so hard there where tears coming out of my eyes.

Mason reached my dressing room in no time. He quickly unlocked the door and placed me on the couch. I tried to get up, but he gently pushed me back down and hovered over me.
