Chapter 4

(Avery's Point of View)

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Ugggghhh, I quickly turned my annoying alarm clock off before it can annoy me any more with the high pitched beeps it lets out. I swear to myself on day I am going to chuck that alarm clock at the wall and laugh when it brakes.

I slowly dragged myself out of bed and got dressed. I wore my peachy floral print shirt with my green jean shorts and my white gladiator sandals. I ran downstairs kissed my grandparents good bye and grabbed a red apple of the kitchen counter for my breakfast, slung my backpack over my shoulder and headed out the door.

The fall air nipped at my skin as I walked to school. My house was not that far from school, so the walk was not that bad and plus, I enjoyed walking. The walk to my school only took about 8 min. When I walked in the school I pulled out my schedule and headed to my homeroom.

When I walked into my homeroom Stella ran up to me and pulled me into a tight bear hug.

"I missed you so much I feel like I have not seen you in forever girl." Stella said with excitement in her voice.

"Thanks Stella I missed you too, but can I breathe," I asked

"Sorry Avery."

"It's cool, but you know we did see each other two days ago and you called me last night and we talked,'' I said with sarcasm dripping from my words.

"I know silly I do not have that bad of a memory, I was just saying those long dreadful hours we did not talk made it seem like forever," she explained

"Dreadful huh, well what if I said I found those hours quite peaceful," I teased her.

"RUDE," she said trying to sound all sassy and mean, but it didn't last well because we both just burst out laughing.

We soon separated to go to are assigned seats. When I went to sit down I noticed that the seat to my right or the person who would be my pair was missing.

"Class, class quiet down, we have a new student who moved to this school his name is Mason." said my homeroom teacher, Mrs. Smith.

I looked up to see the same guy who helped me yesterday from those guys start walking towards me. He pulled out the chair next to mine and sat in it. His abs showed through his tight black shirt and his eyes seemed to sparkle. They were a really pretty light blue color. Now that I see him better he looks really hot! Bad Ave you cannot like him you barely know him for all you know he could be a total jerk or a player or..... Before she could think a voice broke her out of her gaze.

"Hello, he said, looks like we meet again." He said

"Yeah, I see that I said," sarcasm relevant in my voice.

"Wow, somebody sure is happy today," he said in that teasing voice.

The bell rang and I quickly stood up in my chair and was about to leave when he gently grabbed my arm and spun me around. I felt all warm and gooey inside at that moment.

"Yes," I asked

"Do you mind showing me to my classrooms?" He asked

"No, I don't mind let me see your schedule." I said

I looked at his schedule and noticed we had all the same classes. That's weird I thought, oh well, probably just happened on accident.

"Well, we have all the same classes together, so, just follow me around school today and I'll show you were to go and at the end of every class I will wait for you at the door.

"Thanks," he said

The final bell rang freeing me from this hell hole. I thought it was funny though how Mason was in everyone of my classes and in everyone of those classes he either sat next to me or really close to me. I probably was just over reacting I thought. Anyways, I was so happy to go to dance practice now. To me the best part of my day is dance, in my opinion. When I went to the gym I was so excited to see everyone from the dance team we were like one big family.

I was teaching them new moves and everything. We had a long discussion about how if we want to scare our competition away we had to make ourselves known. After thinking hard we decided to do a flash mob at the mall one day this week.

After a couple minutes of choosing songs and talking about what dance moves would go good in that song the football players came in from practice shirtless and sweaty. They looked amazing, but there was one I did not seem to recognize at first and it was Mason. He looked amazing shirtless. Wait, no, bad Avery, bad. Then he sadly disappeared when I went into the girls' locker room to change.

I finished changing out of my dance clothes and back in my school clothes I had worn today. I was almost out the door when I noticed it was raining like mad. Great, I thought, just great. I took out a grey hooded sweatshirt I forgot to take out of my book bag from a couple days ago and slid that over my shirt and pulled the hood over top my hair.

I started to reach for the door when I felt a hand gently grab my shoulder sending warm tingles throughout my body. I quickly spun around to see who it was, but I already had a guess.

"Oh hey, Mason"

"Hey Avery, how are you getting home?"

"I am walking, why?"

"Well, I was wondering if you wanted a ride home since it is so bad outside."

"That's okay; really I would not want to be a bother."

"Nonsense, it would not be a problem,"

"But, I mean I would feel bad and........ before I could say something more I felt my body being lifted up and thrown over his shoulder.

"MASON, put me down, dimwit."

"Nah, you complain too much."

"Mason!" I squealed as I felt him run and as the rain hit me hard as we ran outside towards his car.

When we got to his car I felt him shove me into the passenger seat and shut the door. I looked up only to see him wink at me and run to the driver's side of the car. In one swift move he jumped in the car and slammed the door shut.

"So, were do you live?" he asked

"I live on Thornton road; it's only like 8 min up the road." I said

"OMG, no way girl, I live there too!" He said trying to imitate a girl, but failed badly

"Oh shut up, sure you do Mason, sure you do." I replied in a sarcastic tone.

"No really, I do live there."

"Well, what's your house address then?"

"Mine is 1312 and yours? Just so I know were to drop you off."

"Mine is 1311. So wait, that means we are neighbors."

"I am pretty sure that does Ave."

"How long have you lived there?" I asked

"Well, considering I am new to school a week."

"Well, jeese way to make a girl feel stupid." I laughed

"Welcome!"

"Oh shut up you smart butt."

We soon pulled up to my house I said my thanks and made my way to my house and unlocked the door and headed up in my room to do my homework. I had to admit thought that Mason seemed like a really nice person even though he does not seem to have much patience.
