Chapter 22
(Avery's Point of View)
I woke up feeling a little dizzy. I had a stuffed nose from all that crying before. I slowly slipped out of Mason's bed that I ended up falling asleep in. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 8 A.M.. I went downstairs to go get some breakfast.
"When I walked downstairs I saw that Mark was downstairs making pancakes while Mason grabbed the orange from the fridge and just put the bacon in the microwave to cook. The aroma of the pancakes and bacon hit my nose. The smell was incredible it made my stomach growl.
"Hey Avery, Mark and I are just about finished making breakfast here. So why don't you sit down and have a seat."
"Okay, I will and um... Mason did you tell Mark about what happened yesterday before I went to sleep." I asked curious and slightly embarrassed when remembering how I cried so much on him that he probably had a giant wet stain on his t-shirt from all my tears.
"Oh yeah I did, and that is the other thing I want to talk to you about. Mark and I decided it would be best if we were to get you a new phone number. It's just so that they won't have you cellphone number"
"Alright that sounds reasonable. Is there anything else you want to tell me?"
"Yeah, it's just that when you were asleep I called over one of my friends who works in the agency with us. My friend, Andrew, is what most people classify as a compute genius and we asked him to find out where that phone call was called at and he told us that phone call was about 2 hours away from your house in a phone booth... Mark and I our worried for you safety so we thought it would be best to install a tracker on you."
"Alright, I think I would feel better with one too. Just for extra safety maybe add one to my phone?"
"Yeah, that won't be a bad idea either. I am sure I can set up an appointment with Andrew to install all the trackers and everything. After all I think it would be best for you." He responded.
"Okay everybody! Enough serious talk, the food is finished so let's eat. I mean in less you don't want to I am sure I could eat it all without your guys help." Mark joked around with us trying to brighten the mood.
"Nope sorry Mark, not today. We are hungry too." Mason responded chuckling at his brothers pouty face.
Mason soon sat next to me at the table on my right and helped himself with the food Mark put out on the table. I soon followed after Mason and grabbed some bacon and pancakes. Mark took the chair to my left and also helped himself.
We sat there for a good 20 minutes talking a discussing ideas of what we could do tomorrow and over all just completely random things.
After breakfast was over I grabbed all of the dishes and cleaned them. Mason said that he and Mark could take care of them, but I told him it was no problem. Of course Mark was thrilled he did not have to clean the dishes. Once I was finished I went up stairs and changed into a pair of softie shorts and a tank top. I could not believe I had almost forgotten dance practice.
I hoped that the girls had a better memory than me and remembered dance practice, but just in case I sent a quick text to everyone on the dance team. Within minutes I got replies of okays and alrights. I grabbed my duffel back that was holding my speakers along with my Ipod and a change of clothes with some flip flops. I then proceeded
"Hey Mason, I am going to dance practice I'lll see you guys later." I yelled and started heading out the door.
"Wait Ave!" Mason yelled running towards me. "I would feel better if I went with you."
"Fine, hurry up then because I have to be there in 15 minutes and it is a 10 minute walk to the dance studio we practice in."
"How about I drive you? We can get there even earlier so you have more time to set up." He asked.
"Yes! I would totally love that. Thank you!" I grinned and jumped into his car.
I quickly jumped into the passengers side of his car and fastened my seat belt as soon as I finished putting on my seat belt we quickly took off to the dance studio. we ended up getting there in a record of time there was hardly any cars on the road. I grabbed my duffel bag and quickly started heading towards the building with Mason following behind.
Once we reached the studio Mason entered in first seeing if there was any kind of danger. Once he was sure he spotted none he let me go in. I pulled out a seat for Mason to sit on and started setting up my music and speakers.
Not a moment to soon some of the girls started to show up. I was thankful that all of the girls could make it today because we do need all the practice we could get. We are already very good and last year we one second place, but you know practice makes perfect. I truly hope we win this year.
Once all of my girls came I started some dub step for our warm up music.
"Alright girls we are going to start practicing on our dance routine now."
I started to play the music. What we chose for the competition was a pop mash up. It had all different pop songs mixed into one song. The whole group thought it would be a great idea.
"Alright everybody we are going to practice the dance and edit it a little bit just to perfect it."
I started the dancing music. The girls decided to do something different this year which is what the judges love. For our music we decided to do a mash up of pop songs. It has a bunch of different pop songs in it. like some of Katy perry's songs, Nicki Manaji, Kesha, Adele, and many more.
"Alright everybody, remember left right and turn. I want the wands with ribbons in the front. We got that... alright let's get this started."
We have been practicing for hours now. I was drenched in sweat along with the other dancers. I knew I was completely wiped and I am guessing its the same for the other dancers too.
"Okay everybody, you may go home now and rest up! I expect to see everybody on Friday at 6 A.M. at the dance competition. See you guys later!"
I packed away my Ipod and my speakers. I threw them in my duffel bag and went to get Mason, who was busy playing angry birds on his phone. I giggled at how concentrated he was.
"I am ready to go Mason."
"Okay we can go, but I thought you were going to change." he questioned.
" Oh, I was going to, but I was so sweaty and would just dirty my supposed to be clean clothes. So, I just decided to wait till I got home and took a shower."
"Yeah, that does make sense." He replied grabbing my hand so that we walked hand and hand to the car."
We sadly separated our hands to get in our seats and Mason drove off towards his house. By the time he reached his house I could not be more thankful. I felt disgusting and slimy with all this sweat on me.
I quickly grabbed my duffel bag and jumped out of the car and ran to the bathroom.
I heard Mason laugh and say, " Someone is in a rush today."
"I yelled back, "You would be too if you smelt this bad." and with that I quickly hurried off to the bathroom for my shower.
