Chapter 27

(Avery's Point of View)

I could fell myself starting to regain consciousness. My eyes slowly fluttered open trying to adjust to the light. When my eyes were fully open the first thing I noticed was I was in what appeared to be a bedroom. The walls were covered in some purple wallpaper with dark purple tulips. The wallpaper appeared to be turning yellow and peeling off of the wall. To my left  was a small window that has metal rails on it from the inside.

I looked down to see what kind of position I was in. I was sitting in a wooden dark stained chair with each wrist tied to an arm of the chair and each of my ankles tied to the bottom legs of the  chair. I sigh blew out of my mouth as I realized the situation I managed to be stuck in. Well this has to be just great I thought. Only would it happen to me that a bunch of members of a gang managed to get me past a bunch of agents.

This is just great. A few minutes later the old door that looked a yellowish white color with peeling paint started to open. The rusted brass knob started to turn. The door squeaked as the person on the other side of the turn pushed it open.

Soon a man appeared in the room. He shut the disgusting squeaky door behind him and locked it. I gave him a quick look up and down he was about 5'10 feet tall. He had a big extended belly, but was not what I would consider fat. He had a dark black mustache and tan skin. HIs hair was feathery thin and was styled in a comb over. His hair color was a grayish black. Just by looking at him I could tell he had a hint of Mexican in his back round. He was wearing a black shirt with a brown belt that had a gold cow boy hat on the buck wearing jeans and a pair of snake skin cowboy boots.

He then began to speak. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" He questioned me. HIs voice had a hint of a Mexican accent to it.

I refused to answer the strange man in front of me and I chose to remain silent. He looked at me for a few minutes as if expecting me to answer. I didn't budge just stared right back at him.

"I Guess the little girl is not going to talk, now is she." He stated. "Okay then, let me introduce myself. I am the leader of this gang. My name is Alberto as you might have heard I have been after you for a long time. You see your parent have stolen what belongs to me. They have taken my most precious stone and I want it back. So you see you are my bargaining chip. They get you back safely if I get my rocks back in time." He told me.

I gawked at this Alberto guy. He was totally not what I expected. When you say gang leader I begin to think about a very attractive guy with an eight pack and huge muscles. I do not think about a guy with horrible fashion sense, a comb over and a bowl full of jelly for a belly.

I looked at him not afraid as I first was. With a new found determination in me I finally got up the courage to speak to him.

"First of all your the one who stole the stone. It is not like you found it in the ground and decided to add it to you rock collection, like some innocent little kid. No, you stole it and decided to use it in the worst way by making bombs, which could damage people. I hope you never get that rock back."
