Chapter 24

(Avery's Point of View)

My alarm clock started going off at 5 A.M. this morning and I was tired. I absolutely hate getting up this early in the morning, but today I had to because today was the day of the dance competition. I jumped out of bed and ran to the shower with only one thing on my mind and that was winning this dance competition.

Running to the bathroom I quickly undress, turn on the shower, and jumped it. The warm water falls down my skin feeling nice and relaxing. I get out of the shower and dry myself. I throw on the dance costume my girls and I have all chosen to wear. My outfit is a really pretty sparkly silver shirt with a pair of stretchy short jeans.

For our costumes we have two different colors. One is a silver sparkly shirt which I am wearing and the other one is a gold sparkly shirt. We did not want to all have the same shirts on so we decided to add another color. We evenly split the colors up so it looked good. To complete our costume we wore stretchy jean shorts with a belt and plain navy blue dance shoes.

I then proceeded to blow dry my hair so I could straighten it. Once I had finished I had started to work on my makeup. I told all the girls that I did not want heavy makeup on them go for a neutral look. I was afraid some of my girls would try to add some more colors to their outfits and I could not have us looking like clowns. I put on one coat of clear lip gloss and went back to now mine and Mason's bedroom.

I looked and saw Mason sleeping peacefully. I really did not want to wake him up he looked so peaceful. I was really debating about just leaving him there, but then he would get mad if I left with out. Oh well, I thought, I guess I will just wake him up.

"Mason, Mason, get up, wakey wakey." I spoke to him while gentley stroking his hair.

"Okay, he whispered half asleep, I am getting up."

"Good we have to leave in 20 minutes." I replied.

"Alright I am going to get in the shower now, I will be down once I am finished."

"Good I am going to start putting my bags in the car and then we can drive over to Dunkin Donuts to get something to eat."

"Sounds good to me. See you soon." He replied and gave me a light kiss on my cheek.

I started grabbing my bags filled with everything I need for today. Once I finished putting all of my bags in the car Mason came out about a minute later.

"Hey Ave." Mason said as he bent down and pecked my lips.

"Hey Mase." I replied back.

"I asked Mark to come along with us today and a few others for some extra security because this is a really big place and anything could happen." Mason told me.

I looked into his beautiful blue eyes and placed a kiss on his lips. "Mason, trust me I will be fine, nothings going to happen with you there."

"Alright, but that still doesn't mean I am getting rid of extra protection or being cautious." He replied.

"I did not say you had to get rid of it Mase, I just don't want you getting all worked up over nothing. It is not good to stress out. Now just relax Mase."

"I will try, but I swear if anything happens to you I..."

I cut him off by placing my finger over his lips. "I will be fine nothing will happen."

He grumbled words under his breath, but finally said okay to me. I grabbed his hand and pulled him to the car. We started our trip heading down the road to Dunkin Donuts. When we finally had reached our destination, Dunkin Donuts, I ordered a jelly doughnut with an iced coffee and Mason ended up getting hot chocolate with a powdered cream filled doughnut. We munched on our doughnuts and sipped our drinks for a little while befor we had to head back on the road.

We had been driving for hours and still had a ways to go, but I really needed to go bathroom. "Hey, Mason." I spoke.

"Yeah?" He questioned with an uncertainty in his voice.

"Can we make a pit stop at the next gas station because my bladder is about to explode." I questioned.

"Sure the next gas is about a minute away. We are almost there."

"Alright, thanks Mase."

No longer than Mason said it would take we were at the gas station. I quickly hurried into the bathroom so I could finally go to the bathroom. Once I had finally finished I had felt so much pressure dissapear. It felt good to have an empty bladder.

I was about to exit the small unorganized, dirty, smelly, gross gastation when the disgusting looking sales clerk tried flirting with me.

Hey, hot thing, my name is Henry whats yours?" he questioned his voice sounding pretty high for a dude.

He was what I would call ugly. I hardly ever call people that. I usually try to be nice and call them unique, but that word comes no where close to him. His teeth were crooked and yellow. The guy had dirty greasy hair with a few bald patches. It did not help his looks with a bunch of moles and pimples. He was missing one front tooth. his fingernails were super long for a dude. when he talked you could smell his disgusting breath. It was horrible it smelled like rotten fish with alcohol and cigarettes. Man someone needs to buy a tooth brush and toothpaste. There was no way to nicely say that though, sadly.

"Umm... my name is Avery." I shivered in disgust.

"Nice to meet you Avery." he replied, while his smelly breath fanned on my face making me want to vomit.

"You too. A pleasure really, but I must be going I am in quite a hurry. Please excuse me." I politley spoke trying to leave this horrid place an him as quick as possible.

"You sure you can't stay for a little while longer I hardly get anybody coming to this place. I have such a hard time figuring out why." He spoke stepping closer to me. He then shot me one of those horrid smiles that I think was supposed to be attractive, but just showed his yellow crooked teeth and some missing ones.

Then an arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer to their chest. I automatically relaxed once I realized it was Mason.

"Sorry, but my girlfriend and I are in a hurry we must be going." Mason responded calmly. He then grabbed my hand and dragged me out of there.

"Thanks for that." I told him.

"Welcome Ave." He said placing a gently kiss on my nose. "Are you okay? He did not hurt you, did he?"

"Nope, I am okay Mase, but I think my eyes hurt from looking at him for so long." I responded.

Mason let out a chuckle. My eyes fluttered shut as Mason kissed both of my eyelids. "All better." Mason told me.

I smiled as Mason took my hand and we jumped into the car. It took as about another hour and 10 more pit stops before we finally arrived at where the dance competition. I could feel the butterflys flying around in my stomach going a mile a minute. I was becoming a nervous wreck. I think Mason could tell too.

"Avery look at me." Mason told me. He then gently cupped my face in his hands. "Avery, you will be amazing. Their is no need for you to be nervous at all okay. Just take a deep breathe in and out. I will be in that dance competition cheering for you the whole way through their is absolutely no reason for you to be nervous because we all know you are going to take home that trophy, okay." Masonthen gave me a light peck on the lips and pulled me into his lap where he played gently with my hair and rubbed my back helping me relax.

"Thanks Mase. That really means a lot to me." I spoke glad he was here to support me.

"Now for such great work I think I deserve a big smooch for that one." Mason joked pointing at his lips.

I rolled my eyes at his suggestion. Trust Mason to get a kiss out of this. I laughed lightly and pressed my lips to his. We moved in sync. Mason gently bit my bottom lip wanting me to open. I opened my mouth as he slid his tongue in there. Our tongues to dance with each others.

"Ooh la la, french kissing how nice! Can I get in some of the action brother dearest." Mark tried to talk in an extremely high pitched girly voice.

We slowly pulled apart and this time we both gave Mark death glares. Mark slowly put his hands up.

"Goodness gracious if looks could kill I would be 100 feet under." Mark replied back to our glares.

"Yes, you would Mason told him." Mason then grabbed my hand and we walked into the dance competition holding hands with Mark tagging along behind.
