Chapter 8

(Avery's Point Of View)

I snuggled deeper into my pillow. My pillow felt pretty hard, I swore it was softer than this it felt like a six pack. It smelled so good though. The scent was of mint and pine trees. Wait a minute, mint and pine trees and a six pack. I quickly shot up to see Mason asleep with his arm securely around my waist holding me tightly up against him, as if afraid I would run away and he never see me again.

I gently slipped out of his grip and walked to my kitchen. I looked up at my clock to see it was now 2:00p.m. Wow, I thought, time flew by today. No wonder why Mason fell asleep he probably got tired waiting for us to do something.  I feel bad now, but oh well, stuff happens.

I decided to make us some lunch when he wakes up I would not be surprised if he is going to be super hungry. I know I am because I did not eat breakfast and plus, I can hear my stomach growling. It would not be a total shock if Mason woke up from it because as of right now, my stomach's growling is extremely loud.

I decided to make us some salad. I put in those small red oval tomatoes, some croutons, cucumbers, unions, and drizzled dressing on top. I also thought I should cook some soup so I made my family’s famous chicken and dumpling soup. I also decided to put in some rolls. After everything was made I started setting the table. I hope I did not go too over board, but I knew I was so hungry that I would probably just eat all the food if he refused.

I started pouring the soup in the bowls and put the rolls on a small side plate. Then I put the salad in a glass bowl. After that I put the napkins and silver ware out. I was about ready to see if Mason was awake yet or if I would have to wake him up, but then he did look like he needed it when I was out there. Oh whatever, I will just wake him up. As I was about to take a step out of the kitchen I heard an, AH SHIT! Come from Mason and then faster than I can get a word out Mason ran into the kitchen and almost knocked me over, but before I could fall his strong muscular arms wrapped around my waist.

"Are you okay, Mason, I was going to ask what was wrong, but you came storming in here like a heard of angry bulls. Are you really that hungry that you smelled the food from your sleep and decided to ram into me?" I joked

Right at that moment Mason did the thing I never thought he would do. He blushed, he literally blushed a deep shade of red and I could tell he was nervous from the way he started to rub the back of his neck and then stumbled upon his words. A smile rose upon my lips as I heard him talk he looked so cute. Did I really just say that, ugh... what is wrong with me?

"No, I was ah uh just um worried when you were not in the room that’s all; I uh thought you left me or something."  Mason said, but the last part sounded like a question and I knew he was hiding something from me, but I decided not to press my luck and just ignored it.

"Are you hungry I made us lunch, I was going to wake you, but you beat me to it." I blushed slightly when I looked at everything I made. You would think it was thanksgiving by what I made for two people or so I thought.

"Yeah, actually I am really hungry!" Mason said.
