part 8: the party 1

<this chapter will be completely made up and have nothing to do with the movie💀💀i just wanted kaiyana and tsireya to have alone time so just heads up that this story is a fan fic to not be taken seriously 🙏🙏>

no one's pov:
kaiyana woke up calmly, but still tired since she didn't get a lot of sleep the night before.

today was going to be a big day. that morning the chief had announced a celebration party happening tonight in honor of rotxos older sister finding her mate. rotxos family is very close to tonowaris family, so they thought it to be appropriate to celebrate muntxa si (mating)

since the party was happening at sunset, the kids went to play in the ocean. kiri and tuk wanted to help decorate the village, so they stayed back. the rest were swimming in the blue sea, today was such a warm and calming day, perfect for a party/feast.

kaiyanas pov:
knowing that my mom (and probably my dad too since mom tells him everything), lo'ak, and aonung know about tsireyas and my "relationship" i've felt better. it still sucks that i haven't told neteyam, kiri, and tuk, but i just want to take this slow.

i'm swimming with tsireya, hands held, smiles wide, exploring the ocean world. i love this.

we look up to see the others at the surface. we swim up to join in. "hey guys" i say wiping the water off my face.

"oooo what's this?" i hear aonung say grabbing tsireyas wrist, showing everyone the pearl bracelet i made for her. he smirks knowing neteyam and rotxo don't know.

"it's nothing" tsireya replies pulling her arm away from aonung, then covering the bracelet under water.
me and tsireya share a glance before i hear aonung say:

"did kaiyana make that for you?"

he grins trying to stir me and lo'ak up, i then turn to lo'ak who has his usual death stare, i nudge his arm to grab his attention, and then looked to neteyam. lo'ak turned to him too.

neteyam just had a look of confusion but didn't say anything. rotxo too. i then look to my side at tsireya who looked upset. it seems that aonungs words affected her.
seeing her tilt her head down made me ache.
after that, the atmosphere went quiet.
before anyone could lighten the mood, tsireya dives underwater, i quickly take one more glance at lo'ak to which he nods and i follow behind tsireya.

while trying to catch up to tsireya, i see her go to the rock we kissed at yesterday, i saw her swim to the surface, so i did as well.

no one's pov:
when kaiyanas head comes out of the water, she sees tsireyas side leaning against the rock, her back facing kaiyana.

"are you okay?" kaiyana asks pulling her shoulder back so they could be face to face.

"i told aonung yesterday to let us be and leave your family alone, but he just ignores what i say" tsireya says with sadness in her eyes.

"it feels like i'm just waiting for him to spill the secret and tell everyone"

kaiyana cups tsireyas face "i told my mother about us last night" hearing those words made tsireya tense up and look at kaiyana with worry. kaiyana reassured her, telling her that neytiri will protect them and that they'll be okay.
tsireya sighs in relief and kisses kaiyana with joy knowing that lo'ak and neytiri are on their side.

tsireyas pov:
i love kissing kaiyana, her lips are so soft and the way she holds my waist gives me butterflies in my stomach.
<i don't think pandora has butterflies but whatever>
while we kiss, i can't help but feel a little anxious. when she told me about neytiri i felt such relief but at the back of my mind i still worry about my own parents, and what they would think.

would they be as accepting as neytiri?
will they force me to have an arranged marriage?
will i be allowed to see kaiyana again?

i tried not to think about it and focus on kaiyana. we pull away needing air.

"let's head back to get ready for the party" kaiyana says which i agree and go underwater to swim back.

no one's pov:
kaiyana and tsireya get ready in their huts, kaiyana put her hair up in a nice braid, while tsireya puts on a traditional metkayina dance dress, because she and some others were going to preform a dance for the "newly weds". kaiyana also tried putting kiris hair up but she refuses by rolling her eyes and walking away. her next victim was tuk, she saw tuk trying to hide from her, but eventually got caught and pulled onto kaiyanas lap.
"come on tuk, let me just put your hair into two low buns" tuk groaned but let kaiyana do it.

the sullys walked to the middle of the village where there is a big area where the celebration takes place. there were mats on the floor to sit and eat, while the chiefs family and rotxos family sit near the edge on their own special mats. there were flowers everywhere and sea plants hanging from the ceiling. everyone gathered and the chief made speeches to the mated couple.

after a few hours of eating, laughing, tuk itching her hair every second, and lo'ak and neteyam having little arguments, it was time for the traditional female dance.

throughout the night kaiyana and tsireya had shared a few glances and smiles, trying to not make it obvious. but when tsireya and some other girls stood up to dance, kaiyanas eyes were glued on tsireya.

as the instruments played, and tsireyas body moved to the music, kaiyana had an amorous stare which a few people had noticed:
lo'ak, neytiri, aonung,... and neteyam and ronal

neteyam looked at tsireya then back at kaiyana, he looked back and forth between the two seeing their eyes looking at each other, with kaiyana and tsireya completely oblivious to the fact that they were creating an atmosphere. he had pieced it all together by also remembering what had happened earlier that day.
ronal also picked up on the little stares and furrowed her eyebrows realizing what was going on.

~after few more hours~
it was getting late and some people had gone back to their huts while some were dancing to the music, the newly weds dancing in the centre. the night was dark and the sky clear.

while the sullys were preparing to leave, kaiyana asked her mom if she could stay a little longer, to which neytiri agreed.

kaiyana went over to tsireya who was cleaning up some plates, and asked her to follow her. they snuck out to the beach.

kaiyanas pov:
i went to tsireya and asked her to follow me. i had to tell her how i felt watching her dance, i would've told her at the party, but i didn't want to restrain myself from doing anything.

"i like your hair" tsireya said while walking with me. her words surprised me so i blurted out some nonsense.
"i.. uh like your.. uh dress" she giggles at my attempt to compliment her back, i giggle too knowing i had just said the first thing that came to mind.

we stared in silence before i told her about my feelings.
