part 14: preparation

disclaimer: some of this chapter will be like the movie but i changed it a bit.

no one's pov:
kaiyana and tsireya rush to the village.
there was a huge crowd in the middle and sounds of yelling.

"neteyam!" kaiyana squeezes through the crowd holding tsireyas hand.
neteyam looks back seeing the two.
"what happened?!" tsireya asks, she hasn't seen this anger from her clan before.
"your mothers spirit sister and her calf are dead." tsireya gets tears in her eyes and goes closer to kaiyana.
kaiyana puts her arm around tsireyas shoulder, keeping her close so they don't get separated.

"you gotta understand how the sky people think, they don't care about the great balance! jake sully says to tonowari and ronal, trying to warn them about the danger.

jake tries telling them that they had to tell the tulkun to leave or they will all die.

ronal grows with anger.
"we will not run or hide, we must fight! they can not take our brothers and sisters!"
every one cheers/growls <💀> agreeing with her.
tonowari looks at ronal "we are not ready to fight ronal" he looks back to jake "we must tell the tulkun to leave, we will have 1 day to prepare, and then we will attack!" jakes nods.
"tonow-" "that is final" he shuts ronal down.
everyone dives into the water to warn the tulkun.

neteyam sees lo'ak walk away quickly. he chases after him.
"no way you are rolling out of here baby brother" neteyam says watching lo'ak prepare his ilu.
"i have to warn payakan about the pingers"
"no you have to keep your skxawng ass here"

neteyam tries convincing lo'ak to stay but he doesn't listen. lo'ak dives into the water with neteyam chasing him.. again.

~a little later~
neteyam and lo'ak successfully warn payakan, telling him to leave.

kaiyanas pov:
everyone had returned to the village, preparing for attack, creating weapons, readying skimwings etc.

my main focus was trying to keep my family safe, including tsireya.

i needed to make sure she was okay considering everything thats going on right now. so i take her to an empty hut at the back of the village so no one can see us.

on the way there, a random boy came towards us, specifically towards tsireya.
"you can come to my hut anytime tsireya" he says in a flirty way.
i turn back looking at his disgusting face "what did you just say?!" i say before baring my teeth at him. it felt so natural protecting tsireya, she was mine after all.

"what do you care, you five finger freak" he says while giving me a rude look.
before i could punch his face tsireya stops me
"he is not worth it yana" i obey tsireya and walk back to her.
"seriously though, are you two mated or something?" he asks.

i try ignoring him, but he then says something i couldn't stand.
"it is okay, you can have her, she is not even pretty anyway"
he couldn't be more wrong.
i felt rage through my body, i turn back and punch his face into the floor.
i sit on top of him with one hand holding his neck and the other making a fist ready to punch him again.

"she is the chiefs daughter! how dare you say that! and.."
i wanted to say 'yes, we are mated, so back off' but then i remembered what ronal said, that we had to keep our relationship private.
"..no, of course we are not mated."

while punching this skxanwgs face i hear tsireya yell at me.

"kaiyana! stop!"

her voice had cracked, i look to her face and see tears fall down her face.
i had forgot about what i needed to do: protect her and keep her calm. i felt so much guilt for attacking this boy, even though he deserved it, he was probably just under stress too, and wanted to blow off some steam.

i see her turn around and run away crying.
it broke my heart.
i stand up and run to her trying to catch up.

i eventually reach her and pull her towards my body for a hug.
"i'm so sorry tsireya, i couldn't control myself.. i'm sorry"
she crys into my chest.
she was so overwhelmed with the war and the tulkuns death, and she must've felt worse seeing my beat up the boy.

after she calmed down, i took her to the empty hut. the night was dark and many people were asleep.

we sat down on a mat, i wanted to ask if she was okay but i couldn't because she suddenly kissed me.
i definitely wasn't going to complain, but this kiss seemed different. she was cupping my face and her hips were touching mine while also sitting on my legs.
i knew what she was doing, and i wanted to reciprocate, but i didn't want to take advantage of her emotional state right now.
so i pull away holding her hands.
her face still looked distressed.

"we cant reya" as much as i wanted to kiss her and touch her. i couldn't.
"why not yana?" she looked at me with such lust, it hurt rejecting her.
"because.. you are still stressed and i don't want to take advantage of you"

<btw i'm not talking about sex😜💀 they are still minors, i'm talking about just like touching each others bodies and caressing and shit 😭😭>

tsireya looked down with disappointment, but also with understanding.
"can you just hold me then?" she asks quietly.
"of course reya" i reply putting her head on my chest and lying down.

we slept in each others arms that night.
but i still felt like it was my fault she acted that way, i was supposed to keep her calm and safe, but instead i made her upset and i acted violently towards that boy. i was the danger.
i couldn't believe myself.

<that was intense, a lot of emotions in this chapter, the next one is more friendly don't worry. kaiyana and lo'ak are literally the same person 💀💀💀 thoughts on this chapter?>
