part 15: the day before war

please enjoy this chapter as much as i enjoyed writing it😜

no one's pov:
tsireya woke up with no one next to her. she looked to find kaiyana, who was sitting at the end of the hut making some food.
"why are you over their yana?" tsireya said rubbing her eyes to wake herself up.

"just needed some space..to make food.." kaiyana tried lying but she just can't, not to people close to her.

"i know you are lying yana" tsireya walks over to kaiyana standing her up.
she then holds kaiyanas hands.
"talk to me"
kaiyana sighs submitting to tsireya.
"it's just that.. i feel guilty for what happened last night. if i had just controlled myself and left the boy alone, you wouldn't have acted the way you did." kaiyana looked so sorry.
tsireya puts a hand on kaiyanas cheek.

"it is okay kaiyana, it is not your fault. he deserved what he got, and the reason i acted the way i did was because i was so overwhelmed and stressed, i could not control myself too"
"i am also sorry"

they look at each other with love before they kiss softly. the kiss short and loving.
"well.. do you want to try the food i made?"
kaiyana asks with a happy face.

they both loved their relationship, so communicative and respectful.

~a few hours later~
tsireya was called by her mother so kaiyana and tsireya separated.
kaiyana went back to her family hut.

"where have you been?" lo'ak asks
"i spent the night with tsireya.." she replies.
lo'ak raises his eyebrows and smirks at her
"ugh nothing happened lo'ak" she pushed lo'aks arm moving out the way so she could take a seat.

they both sat down and start sharpening their daggers. jake had given them matching daggers for their 10th birthday. they loved it so much but gained many cuts from playing with it.
"sooo what have you been doing today lo'ak?"
"ehh nothing much, mainly helping people prepare. i'm going for a swim later, wanna come?"
"sure"

they missed this, hanging out like twins. their twin connection had been sort of dormant after kaiyana mated with tsireya, but it was still there.

twins are actually quite unique and rare to na'vis, they are said to hold great amounts of power and energy. jake and neytiri we're praised a lot after the birth of lo'ak and kaiyana. but they were still treated the same as their siblings. 'no special treatment' their parents said often.

a few minutes later of just talking about random things. neteyam walks in.
"oh hey yana, where did you go last night?" neteyam asked like a concerned older brother.
lo'ak answer before kaiyana did.
"she was hanging with tsireyaaaa" he said in a weird way.
"tsireya?" neteyam replied with a higher pitched voice, thinking something happened.
"nah i'm just kidding brother, she said nothing happened between them" lo'ak says sighing.

"ha ha, you guys are so funny!" sarcastically said by kaiyana.

"you guys are just jealous because you're lonely and desperate for female attention" she said with her hands on her hips, completely destroying the boys's ego.

they look at her in shock since she just exposed them.

"wow i cannot believe you just said that" lo'ak said to her.

before anyone could say anything else their dad walks in.
they all go quiet, loosing the snarky attitude.

"hello father" neteyam says with his head down.
"hey kids, what are you guys talking about?"
jake asks while trying to find something.
"uhh nothing much" kaiyana answers.
"cool" jake said walking out, holding what he was looking for.

"damn that was close, he nearly found out you guys having no game whatsoever" kaiyana said with the snarky attitude she picked up off the floor.
she clicks her tongue "he wouldn't be happy about that"
"oh shut up yana" neteyam said storming out. he seemed so insulted.

after he walked out lo'ak and kaiyana bursted out laughing, holding their aching stomachs.

"i cant... believe... he took it... so seriously!" lo'ak tried saying in between breaths.
"i... know... right!" kaiyana also tried saying in between breaths.

their faces eventually got sore after laughing so hard.
they went to go on the swim, but as they were going, tuk comes up to them.

"where are you guys going?" she asked like a curious bug.
"just for a swim" they said at the same time.

they wanted to laugh but it was too painful.

"can i come!"
"sure"

the three of them left to the ocean~

kaiyanas pov:
~a little bit later~
we had been swimming for about 45 minutes until tuks stomach started growling, while swimming back to the village, i saw something beyond the reef.

"wait up guys, what's that" i said pointing in that direction.
"i don't know..let's check it out" lo'ak said.
we all knew we weren't supposed to go past the reef but lo'ak and i are the trouble making twins so we had to.
i think tuk is sadly following in our footsteps though.

we swim closer until we find out it was a tulkun.

"payakan?!"
