Gilly's P.O.V.
A rock hit my face.
I sit up, very, very annoyed, and glance at the window. Jax is sitting on Mighty, outside the window, he has something in his hand and looks like he's about to throw-
"OWW!" I yelp as another rock hits me in the face.
"Ah.... sorry!" Jax says, "Didn't know you were awake."
"Umm... why else would I sit up?"
".... I wasn't thinking."
"Yeah, I can see that." I scoff. "Anyway, what are you doing here?"
"Couldn't sleep, so I came out."
"That doesn't explain why you're throwing rocks at me."
"To wake you up."
"I can tell," I say, "But why do I need to wake up?"
Jax tilts his head, "You don't wanna join?"
I sigh and grab my jacket and boots. "Coming."
I tiptoe to the window, careful not to wake up Anna. Jax pulls me up onto Mighty.
"Why didn't you take Macho with you?"
"Smuggling two horses out in the middle of the night is harder than smuggling one." Jax states.
"Anyway, where are we going?" I ask as we fly off.
"I wanted to show you something."
Mighty lands on the roof and Jax jumps off. "Come on."
I follow off after him.
Jocelyn's P.O.V.
A dark shadow blocks the moonlight, leaving the room in complete darkness. I look out the window and see Jax sneaking out with Mighty.
What is he doing at this time of night?
Quickly, I grab a black cloak and put it on, exiting the room quietly so that Harlow doesn't wake up. As I close the door, someone taps on my shoulder. I swing around, ready to attack.
"Oh," I sigh in relief, "It's just you."
Blue nods and gestures for me to follow him. He leads me outside and then points up.
I look up and see Jax and Gilly flying onto the rooftop.
"Why are they going up there," I whisper to myself. Blue signals for me to get on. "All right, let's see what they're up to shall we?"
We land in a far corner behind a chimney. I peek out, Jax and Gilly are standing in the center, Jax pointing up at the sky and saying something. They sit down.
"I think it's time to put one of my plans into action," I say to Blue.
I mutter a spell and a gentle blast of cold wind comes over. I shiver but don't take my eyes off the action scene.
They speak a little longer, then Jax gives Gilly his coat. I hold back a smile that's creeping up. Even in the dark, I can see Gilly blushing. She says something, probably something snarky.
Gilly yawns.
I'm starting to wish I had an invisibility cloak or something. It would be really helpful for spying- no- watching people from a distance to make sure nothing goes wrong.
I shift my attention back to them.
I bite my lip to hold back a smile, Gilly's fallen asleep on Jax's shoulder and Jax is so red that I actually want to laugh.
I turn to Blue, "Alright, let's go now then."
So sorry!!!!!! Tbh I had most of this already written down as a draft but I just didn't have time to finish it -- also I got caught up in reading... again...
Anyway, I hope this chapter makes up for the *counts on fingers* two months? Three months? I'll try my best to update (I know how annoying it is waiting for an update so I'll try harder!) and one more thing,
THANK YOU FOR THE 6.1K VIEWS!!! YOU'RE ALL THE BEST
