I'm Back

Jax's P.O.V.

"So," I say, trying to keep from jumping up and down the deck. "How'd Gilly get back?"

"Oh, umm...." Kayla mutter, "Uhh, they sent someone."

"Who?"I ask curiously.

"Well..... uh... Jack?"

My mood immediately darkens. "Jack?" I repeat, "The same Jack who had the beanstalk? The one who was working with Rumpelstiltskin?"

Yes, I will never forget that Jack once helped Rumpelstiltskin, well, who are we to say he still isn't?

"Umm, do we know any other Jack?" Kayla asks.

"Not that I know of." I say quietly.

Jack? Of all the people they could send, it had to be Jack? Am I the only one who remembers his past crimes? I mean, 1) he sold us out to Rumpelstiltskin, 2) he tricked us, and 3)........ well, that's all I've got so far but that's not the point!

"I'm going to bed." I say bluntly.

Couldn't they have just told us where Gilly was so we could go get her?

Maxine walks by me and looks alarmed as soon as she sees my face. I must have been glowering pretty hard.

"What's wrong?" she says, carefully watching my expression, "We'll see Gilly soon!"

I brighten up a bit, "Yeah. We will."

I walk into my cabin and close the door. Jack better not be taking over my spot as best friend again. No one should be able to take over that spot, after all. I've know her since she first came to FTRS and I'm her partner in crime aren't I?

"Hello??? Earth to Jax?" 

I blink and see Ollie waving his hand in front of my face.

"You ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," I lie, "Just a bit tired. That's all."

He eyes my suspiciously, "Ohhhhhhkay."

"I think I'm gonna go to bed." I say.

"Umm, it's the morning and you just got out of bed." Ollie points out.

"I don't feel that well, see you later." I mutter, hoping that he'd just take my excuse and leave me be.

Ollie just raised his eyebrows and left.

I slump onto the bed and start sulking.

Anna's P.O.V.

"Gilly!" I cry as Erp sets Gilly down.

I run over and hug her.

"Are you ok?" I ask.

"Yeah," Gilly assures, "Hayley found me and made sure I was ok." she looks around, "Huh, Jax and the rest aren't here yet?"

A smile creeps onto my face. "No," I say as innocently as possible, "Why?"

"Oh, nothing. I just thought they'd be here by now."

"Oh, so you didn't miss someone." I say.

Gilly turns red, "What? No!"

I hold in my grin.

"Hmm, now that I think of it, I think they came a couple hours earlier. They had some business to do I think. I do believe Jax was called away by some RLW or RA princess." I say casually.

"What?" Gilly exclaims. "What did they need?"

I shrug, "No idea."

I can practically see the steam coming out of her ears! It took all of my effort not to smile.

"C'mon Gilly, let's get you settled in, the room's been so boring without you." I say, grabbing her hand and dragging her away.
