Zoning Out, Again

I look at the window and start zoning out on what Professor Sebastian is saying. "Thief!" Jax whisper-hisses. "What??" I demand. He nods towards Professor Sebastian. "As, I was saying," Professor Sebastian says, "We will have a test on pixie dust next week. Please prepare. Class dismissed." My eyes almost bulge out of my head. A test? We have a test? Wow, I must have missed out a lot. "Gilly! Let's go!" Kayla waves me over, "Let's practice until we have to go to bed!" I sigh and follow Kayla into our dorm. Ever since we've found out I'm a fairy, Kayla has been determined on helping me find more fairy powers I have. Honestly, I feel like it's taking up all my free time. But I don't want to dishonor Grandma Pearl, or disappoint Kayla so I guess I've got to do it.

*Time skip*

"GILLY! KAYLA! WAKE UP!" Miri yells. I throw my pillow at what I assume is the mirror. It's not, it's Kayla "Gilly!" Kayla complains. "Sorry!" I groan, hiding under my covers. "Miri it's the weekend! We don't have school!" "So?" Miri asks, "You should always keep the same wake up schedule." Then she disappears. Finally, some peace and quiet.............. KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK very loud knocks interrupts  my peace and quiet. "Ugh! What do you want?" I whine. "Gilly? Are you up yet? Blackbeard's sword fighting class is starting!" Jax calls through the door. "Why does it have to start this early?" "I don't know, all I know is if you don't come now, you're gonna be late." Jax replies. Reluctantly, I drag myself out of bed and pull on my boots. Still half asleep, I trudge out of my dorm and meet Jax outside. "You're gonna wear that?" Jax points to my pajamas, unfortunately, I forgot to change. I stomp back into the dorm and get dressed. "Can we go now?" I grump. Jax smirks, "Yeah." We make our way down the halls and into Blackbeard's class. "Gilly! Ye be 'ere!" Ollie calls to me. "Nice to see you to Ollie." I say. "All right everyone, grab a sword an' partner to the sky!" Blackbeard tells us. I stare at him blankly. "He says grab a sword and partner up." Maxine whispers to me from the sidelines. "Oh!" I quickly grab a sword, then look around for Jax, he's not with Ollie, Ollie's with Blackbeard. And Jocelyn just conjured up a fake person to sword fight with..... there he is! He is standing right behind me. Which is kind of stupid of me not to notice. "Partners?" I ask. "Yeah." Jax agrees. We hold up our swords. "Three, two, one, start!" Blackbeard calls. Me and Jax start. He's good, but not as good as me. I let him back me to a corner. "Not so good at sword fighting then?" Jax teases. "You wish." I snap back then I quickly slide across the floor until I'm behind him. Now he's the one in the corner! "Now, who's the one in the corner?" I gloat. "Ok, I take it back." Jax says. I smile smugly. I just have to get him distracted for a moment...... I concentrate on where his sword is, almost time....... NOW! I twist my sword around his and de-sword him. (Sorry! I don't know what's the correct word so I just made up one!) "YES!" I scream. "I WIN!!" Jax rolls his eyes, "I know, you don't have to scream." "Yay, Gilly!" Maxine cheers. "Jolly job kids, now I be afraid class be o'er. See ye next week!" Blackbeard dismissed the class. "Now that you're done, we can study for our test!" Maxine smiles. Kayla stumbles in, "Did I miss anything?" she yawns. "Only me beating Jax!" I gloat. "Congrats!" Kayla rubs her eyes, "Ok, now I'm ready to study." I think quickly, "Can't we get ice cream first?" I ask. Maxine shrugs, "Sure, why not?" "And patty cakes! Don't forget patty cakes!" Ollie adds, joining us. "Yes, we can't forget the patty cakes." Kayla rolls her eyes. "What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Ollie asks, then takes off running. "Wait up!" Maxine and Kayla run after him. "Nice save." Jax nudges me. "I don't know what you're talking about." I huff. "Yeah, right." Jax smirks. I jab my elbow into him, "You better not mention that to anyone." I threaten him. Jax fakes shock, "I would never!" "Ha, ha, very funny." I snap. "Hurry up, everyone's probably there already." Jax mutters something that sounds like "Excuses." I turn on my heel, "Excuse me?" I demand. "What?" Jax asks. "What were you saying?" "Uhh, excellent?" Jax suggests. "Not buying it." I say. "I'll let you off this time." 

*Time skip*

"I still don't get why we have to take weekly tests." I grumble as Maxine and Kayla explain the uses of pixie dust. "Gilly," Maxine says, "Like I said, it's for us to learn more since you have to expect the unexpected. Now pay attention." I managed to listen for thirty minutes straight, which is a lot for me, then I zoned out. I wonder what Anna is doing. She was sentenced to FTRS for a year because of what she'd done. Sadly, they wouldn't let me share a dorm with her, instead, she shares a dorm with a girl named Penny. According to what Anna told me, Penny was sentenced to FTRS for stealing a wand and using it. And that's as much as I know about her, I plan on asking Flora about her when I see her. After Alva disappeared, Flora has been really busy because Rumplestiltskin had a lot of minions following him. I hope Hansel and Gretel are sentenced for life, I don't want to see them again. But if I do, they will seriously regret seeing me. I need to meet Penny sometime, I mean I gotta see the girl who shares a dorm with my sister right? Besides, I need to decide whether she is good or bad. "Gilly!" Kayla snaps her fingers in front of my face. "Huh?" I snap out of my thoughts. "Didn't you hear me? I said that we have to go to bed now!" "Oh!" I jump out of my chair, "Well, then let's go!" Me and Kayla run through the hallways. "NO RUNNING IN THE HALLWAYS!" Miri reminds us. "Thanks for the reminder!" I shout back, "I'll remember that next time, maybe!" I laugh. "Miri is gonna be so mad!" Kayla giggles. "I think she's planning to wake you up early tomorrow." I raise my eyebrows, "She wish! It's gonna take a lot more than that to get me out of bed!" "Gilly!!!" Kayla complains, "That's mean I have to suffer!" I shrug, "Sorry!" "GILLY!" Jax is yelling for some reason, "Can you come here for a second?" Kayla raises her eyebrows at me and grins. I glare at her. "Coming! Give me a sec." I turn to Kayla, "Don't. You. Dare." I hiss. Kayla smiles innocently, "Don't worry, I think Jax really wants to see you though." "UGH!" I exclaim, "YOU ARE IMPOSSIBLE!" Kayla points to Jax, "Jax is waiting, you don't want to keep him waiting do you?" "I. Hate. You." I grumble as I make my way over to Jax. "Wait what?" Jax looks surprised. "Why do you hate me? I didn't do anything!" "I was talking to Kayla." I glare daggers at her, she gives me a sappy smile. "Umm, ok?" Jax asks. "Anyways, I need to talk to you." He drags me to an empty classroom. I can see other students pointing at us and giggling. I flush, I really want to tell them to mind their own business. "You need to study for the test." Jax tells me. "I do study!" I insist. "Well, you will if you actually pay attention!" Jax answers. "Look, Professor Sebastian is gonna kill you if you fail another test. You might even end up in detention!" I cross my arms, "So? I can take care of myself, why do you care?"  Jax sighs, exasperated. "I care because you're my friend!" I make a face, "Can't you care about someone else?" I ask. Jax gives me a look that says 'Are you crazy?' "Fine. I'll study alright? Now can I go?" I plead. Jax pretends to think, "Yes, you may go-" I turn around, "But, I  have to be there with you, or else you'll make another excuse." I huff, "Fine. But tomorrow, today I need my fun day."
