This is so annoying

This is so annoying. Very annoying. My car refuses to cooperate at the most inopportune time. I get out of the car and to my dismay, the rear tire is completely flat. I grumble in annoyance, cursing under my breath.

"Damn. Why did the car have to break down when I'm in such a rush?" I mutter, kicking the tire as if it would magically fix the issue.

Frustration bubbles within me as I retreat back inside the car to retrieve my phone. My fingers swiftly dial my brother's number, hoping he'll answer, but the continuous ringing only fuels my annoyance. "Gunner, answer the damn phone!" I mutter, growing more impatient with each passing ring.

I look at my watch, the minutes ticking away. Class is about to start soon, and I'm certainly not in the mood to walk the considerable distance to school.

"Excuse me po, may problema ba?" A sudden voice diverts my attention, pulling me from my internal thoughts. I turn my head to find the speaker, recognizing the woman as one of my brother's students.

"Yes, my tire is flat," I reply, a hint of impatience tinting my voice. I try calling my brother again, only to be interrupted once more by her.

"Saan ka po patungo? Kung malapit lang naman dito ihahatid nalang po kita, mukhang nagmamadali po yata kayo. Kung hindi nyo mamasamain, willing po ako ipagpedal kayo." She smiles softly, asking where I'm headed. Sensing my urgency, she explains that if it's close by, she's willing to give me a ride instead of walking. The familiarity now clicks, and I recall that she was the same girl who had helped me the day before.

I observed the bicycle she was riding, noting the unique design that allowed mounting at the back. I can't help but feel surprised, wondering if she truly doesn't recognize me. Could it be because of my dyed black hair and the absence of contact lenses?

What a tender girl.

"Aren't you in a hurry?" I question her. However, she shakes her head softly, her smile lingering for a moment, as if considering the question.

"Actually nagmamadali po, may bagong professor kasi kami today at ang sabi ng kapatid niya ayaw nito sa mga estudyante na late sa klase. Medyo terror daw po kasi."I let out a small sigh, biting my lip as she shares about the new professor.

"Then why are you helping me?" I ask, trying to sound casual. "You can leave now. I don't want you to be late because of me." I try calling Gunner again, my phone held up to my ear, hoping he picks up.

"Kasi po kailangan mo ng tulong, alam ko na pagagalitan ako mamaya ng professor pero hindi ko naman pwede iwanan ang nangangailangan ng tulong." She says firmly. I had thought she was about to leave, but she's proving to be quite persistent, she probably won't stop until I concede.
