Chapter 13

This day, you were babysitting Bernard and Nikita at Diego's house. It was a wonderful day, and you could've been doing so well if Nikita didn't come running up to you.

"Y/N! Y/N! Bernard is bullying me again!" 

She called. You took her by her arms and looked at Bernard who was next to her. 

"Bernard?"

You expected him to answer and explain to you what he was doing.

"Fine. I was kidding! Look, what a wonderful smell!"

He bent down to Nikita but jumped back with a disgusted face.

"Oh god! It's disgusting!"

Nikita hugged you closer and whined more about Bernard bullying her. So, to see if it's true, you knelt and smelled Nikita too. The smell reminded you of rotting human corpses and you tightened your face from the stench.

"Bernard is right. You should take a shower."

Nikita started crying even louder and went running towards Lalita, whining about how you and Bernard were pranking her.

"Bernard and Y/N are pranking me! Tell them to stop, it's not funny!"

Nikita whined as she rubbed her face into Lalita's chest. Lalita was about to scold the two of you, but she stopped when she saw your disgusted face.

"It stinks of rotting human flesh here. What did you do here to make it stink so bad? Did your dad bury someone's corpse here or something? It stinks so bad......"

Lalita sat there for a second and announced that she was going to ask for a refund on the perfume that made them all stink so much. And guess what? Nikita forced you to go with her. And so, you did. When you arrived at the perfume shop, the owner denied ever selling such products. None of you knew how, so he let you smell his perfume and Lalita's. They smelled different. That's when Lalita mentioned that she saw a couple of guys selling Shalele perfume in a marketplace kiosk. But he denied that too. He said they never sell perfume in marketplace kiosks since they own a large building dedicated to just selling perfume. That's when you heard some men yelling outside and turned around to see what was happening.

"Expensive perfume for really low prices!"

You heard some men yell from the entrance of a white building right across from your shop.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, today we are opening a new perfume shop! Only one silver coin for the best perfume that came from over the border! Come in and take as much as you want. Hurry up!"

You heard the men yell to the rest of the people on the streets, causing them to turn around and come see what there was to buy. You even saw Lalita's parents buy perfume there! It seemed like it was over for this man's business. But that's when Nikita offered to help the man, and find the people who were selling fake perfume. Lalita agreed and you didn't know what to say. How were the three of you going to find the bandits if you don't have even a single clue? You walked down the street, back home, when Lalita paused and asked you.

"Y/N, what are we going to do? I have no idea how to catch those bandits. Do you?"

You sighed at Lalita's quotation and face planted in your palm.

"Well, that's what I thought. We have no idea where to even start. How did you start making such promises without knowing what to start with!?" 

You were about to get in a fight with Lalita when you noticed that Nikita wasn't following you two anymore. You turned around and saw her staring at a covered wagon that just drove by you.
