You kept on getting thoughts about Wolf and what he said to you earlier in the forest by San Tasco. It made you feel uncomfortable, and you hated the thought of it to your core. You pondered on those thoughts alone as you came closer to a lonely tree in Diego's backyard. You fell to the ground, quietly leaning on the tree and bathing in the sun with a lonely smile. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath in as the same memories played over and over in your head like a record player that's stuck and can't move on. You wanted to throw up just from bits of such memories. It was repulsive to you. It was repulsive to you that someone thought of you as a god and wanted to bring you sacrifices just because of your beauty or a prediction someone made in the past. No, it wasn't repulsive. It was cruel to do so.
"Y/N! Didn't think I'll see you here."

You heard Diego's usual cheerful voice. That was a beautiful voice belonging to a perfectly pure-hearted man that you loved to your core by now. You don't know how, but he cured you of your pains and sorrows and all of your bad past experiences. You were lovesick to your very core. And he was the same, but not with you. You kept your eyes closed and relaxed even more, forgetting your uncomfortable thoughts and melting in his presence. You heard him loudly plop next to you and fall back on the grass.

"Nice weather, isn't it?"

You nodded and opened your eyes to look at Diego. You looked into his pretty crystal eyes and smiled. Diego smiled back at you and kneeled forward a little, not breaking eye contact with you.

"No. I will never. I will never fall in love with a guy. It will just hinder me and my life more. I've already been tricked once because of love; this will never happen again!"

You swiftly moved back making Diego widen his eyes in surprise at your reaction. Your promise came back into your head. Were you breaking another promise you made to yourself? You didn't care because for this moment it was just you and Diego.

"I-"

Suddenly a carriage went by you with the utmost amount of noise it can get.

"Guys - oh good thing you're here!"

Lalita exclaimed as she ran towards the two of you by the tree.

"You won't believe what happened!"

You were kind of annoyed at Lalita for ruining the moment, but you stayed silent about it, or you'll look weird.

"A kidnapping had occurred!"

She finally spilled.

"What?! Someone was kidnapped?"

Diego asked in shock.

"Yeah. Everyone in town is only talking about that." "Then who was kidnapped?"

You budged into the conversation.

"The Governor-General. People are saying that Zorro kidnapped him and that the army is currently searching for him."

You were shocked to hear that. Why would Zorro do that? Moreover Diego? Those were your suspicions, but everything pointed to Diego being Zorro. When did Diego have enough time to kidnap the General Governor? You were sure that it wasn't him. Lalita then asked the two of you to get in the carriage with her and she brought you to the building where the General Governor was. The building was pretty warned out and looked abandoned. The building was surrounded by an army of soldiers and the three of you climbed up to a far tree in the woods to see what was happening above the army of men in front of you. A crowd of citizens also gathered nearby to watch from afar what was going to happen, although none of you could get close, since who knows what may happen if the army notices all of you. You, Diego, and Lalita climbed to the highest branch you could get to without falling off and sat there to observe. The three of you purposefully didn't climb high to not fall off and to be able to see from above but not too high above. Lalita and Diego started having their own conversation while you got lost in your thoughts while dangling your feet off of the branch and swinging them aggressively. You were a little angered at Lalita, but you calmed yourself down and thought about something else. For example, where was Bernard all this time? You never saw him since the early morning and he still didn't come back home, nor talk to you, Diego, or Lalita.

"Hey, Y/N."

You felt Diego's hand reach your shoulder.

"It's getting dangerous out here, we should head back to town."

You hummed and climbed down the tree to go home while Diego and Lalita continued arguing on the tree's thick and sturdy branches. You went home and arrived about 10 minutes earlier than Lalita and Diego. Time passed, and it was bedtime for all of you, although Bernard still hasn't shown up. You were starting to worry and decided to ask Diego if he knew where Bernard was. Since Diego is the closest person to Bernard. You stayed up until the middle of the night, wondering if you should go, and decided to do so. You knocked on Diego's door, but no one answered, so you walked in yourself, but didn't see Diego anywhere. You looked out the window in Diego's room and saw Zorro on his white horse, leaving out the front yard, to the far road. Now, you were sure of it. Diego is Zorro. You continued staring out the window in his room and then quickly covered it with curtains.

"I probably looked like a creep staring out the window like that!"

You thought to yourself while trying to hide your embarrassed face. That's when you suddenly remembered that you were in Diego's room and without his permission too. You quietly opened the door and went back to your room, hoping no one would notice what you did.
