You could only blame yourself for what happened. You sent Lalita out in the mountains out of town, so she could run an errand for you. You knew that it should've been your job, but you allowed Lalita to go and run it for you. Now she's missing and you lied to everyone to keep Lalita's absence a secret. What has gotten into you? Why have you lied to everyone? No. Why had you sent Lalita out for an out-of-town errand when rumors of a giant monster have been going around town? You had no idea of what you were thinking back then, but now... you must fix everything on your own. You told everyone that because Lalita was returning home very late, she stayed at an inn out of town that was owned by one of your friends. This morning, you told them that you were going to go and pick her up from the inn and help her home. Of course, everyone wanted to come and see your "friend" and the inn she was staying at, but you declined.
"Do you have to go alone?"
Bernard asked you while you were getting the wagon set for your trip.
"Yes, I do, Bernard."
He pouted loudly next to you when Diego came by and closed his mouth.
"It's ok Y/N. Go ahead. We'll be here and wait for you and Lalita to come home safely."
You nodded and got up the wagon and slapped the horse's reins to get it going. About 10 minutes later, you were out of town and nervously sweating from your thoughts. What if Lalita was found by the monster and gets killed? It will be a catastrophe for you! It will be even worse if you don't find her corpse or instead find pieces of it. But that's when your line of thoughts was interrupted by a girl's desperate cry for help. It sounded a lot like Lalita, so you slapped the reins of the horses, and they brought you closer to an open field in the woods. You got off the wagon and saw a man on top of Lalita, holding her by the shoulders and smugly smiling. You could already smell the stench of his dirty thoughts that he was imagining with her, and it infuriated you! You jumped out of the forestry and pushed the guy off and slammed your foot in his face. He fell back and slowly rose again, but this time, with a bloody nose. You ran towards him again and kicked him in the shins hard and landed another blow in his face. He landed on the ground and started rolling around from the pain, while the rest of the men there, were also on the floor, unconscious. You looked up and saw a tall, cat-like, fluffy, white creature that was looking down at Lalita. You guessed that he was the one who got the other guys unconscious. You also guessed that it was the monster that everyone was talking about, so you ran towards Lalita and grabbed her hand, but she didn't budge.
"Lalita, let's go. He's the monster everyone is talking about."
She swayed her head and turned to you.
"No! I won't leave! He helped me when I went missing and cared for me! He's a nice guy once you get to know him."
You were a little baffled at what she said. The "usually scared" Lalita was now really brave. You didn't know what to say or do but decided to trust Lalita's words. The monster's features did indeed soften, and his claws disappeared when he saw that Lalita was safe, so you guessed she was right. He kneeled to grab Lalita, but something quickly made him stand back. Zorro! He pushed the two of you inside the wagon you were in from earlier and forced the horses to go run forward by themselves. The two of you looked back to where Zorro was fighting the monster alone and tried yelling back at him, but he didn't hear. You tried to stop the horses, but Zorro got rid of the reins that the horses had before.
"No wonder it took him a long time to get here. He was setting this up all along."
You thought to yourself as you had thought of who Zorro may be. But now, was not the time. You should be more worried about the big furry monster of Lalita's than who Zorro was in real life. The horses stopped running after they reached the city border and went inside the wooden walls the soldiers made. One of the soldiers there stopped the horses and alarmed everyone that the monster was coming. Once he came into view, all the soldiers start shooting their bullets at him, and some used cannons. But nothing seemed to work.
