Chapter fourteen: Tony goes on vacation

The next morning Loki was more distant than ever before, he didn't even acknowledge your existence when he came into the kitchen for a glass of water. The others were visibly tense around him, always glaring and purposefully getting in his way. You understood the anger they had, even you weren't sure how to handle this whole a god with unsure intentions just moved in situation but you found their constant complaining and bickering annoying.

You were entering Tony's lab. Out of everyone he looked to be the most drained by this whole reunion and string of arguments. It's only been one day and the dark circles were already forming under his eyes again, not to mention how uninterested he became towards most things. You were luckily an exception.

Looking over the random scraps of metal and pieces of tech laying around you searched for him but in the mess couldn't find anything that even remotely resembled the narcissistic billionaire. Only the faint sound of his even heartbeat.

"Hello?" You asked as the door finally closed behind you.

"Oh, hi! Good to hear you!" He greeted from somewhere. Suddenly a hand appeared behind one of the desks that had big computer screens stacked on it. You made your way over to him. "Wanna see my database on vampires? I've been working on in since you left with Thor."

"Sure." You answered happily, a shade of interest mixing with unease in your chest.

"I'm still trying to work out a scientific explanation by the way." He told you as he opened the folder and with a flick of his wrist he pulled the contents of the file out into the air. You leaned onto either side of the armrests on his chair and looked over his head.

•they have a humanity switch and if it turns off they become a danger to society
•some have jewelry that allows them to walk in the sun
•the veins under their eyes become blackish when they draw their fangs
•their skin is pale
•if they don't feed they slowly turn into stone but can be revived with blood
•they have died to become vampires so their insides are just like a human's but their heart is the only thing slowly pumping the blood through their bodies
•they are like sharks when there is even the slightest drop of blood in the air, they can smell it from almost 400 feet
•they are really fun to be around
•the blood they feed on can be directly from a living thing or just blood bags
•the can eat normal foods but it won't do anything to ease their hunger
•alcohol and drugs work slower on them
•if you have a moonstone in a sliver casket on you, it can prevent you from getting compelled

"How'd I do?" He asked as he watched you read over the file.

"This is... actually really accurate." Your brows shot together in concern. "Please, keep this on the low. If even a small suspicion about the existence of vampires gets out we are all gonna be in danger." A small smirk worked its way onto his face as he softly exhaled. "I'm serious Tony."

"Don't worry kid, your secret's safe with me." The smirk faded into a smile.

As your eyes skimmed over his face you saw nothing but genuine trust. This was the way he looked at you since he fell into your arms after you've saved him on the day of Loki's attack on New York. You envied his openness with you, only wishing to be able to open up like this to someone but yourself. Of course, you confined in him with many things that you wouldn't have even dared to think about with others but you couldn't bring yourself to lower your guard completely with anyone.
