You felt like your whole world was spinning.

How was this even possible? Dreams weren't supposed to come to life like this.

Your body felt cold from the inside and you could practically feel your heart pumping blood through your veins with extreme force. Did this mean that he was here to attack New York?

Chest rising and falling you gripped the railing again in order to keep yourself from buckling over. You knew you had to keep a neutral facade but it seemed nearly impossible now. You only came back to your senses a bit when he opened his mouth.

"Are you okay?" He asked, voice absent of any evilness.

You found his eyes as you harshly cleared your throat in hopes that the motion would ground you a bit. "Yeah, sorry, just a bit dizzy..." Looking up, your eyes found his blues and for some reason beyond you, you felt a little more at ease. Clearly noticing that your irises were unnatural he made no remark, no frown or no reaction. Only his brows furrowed in what seemed like concentration and you didn't truly understand why but decided to ignore it.

Letting go of the railing you wanted to move towards one of the couches but your trembling legs gave up on you and you fell forward. Or would have fallen forward if he didn't move to catch you, his hand snaking around your waist while the other grabbed your upper arm.

"Got you!" He smiled down at you, softly laughing as you tried and failed to find your balance.

Your brain was working super fast and extremely slow at the same time, failing to comprehend the situation and get you moving. You weren't sure whether to be afraid of him or try and get some information out of him.

But the way his thumb gently grazed your waist and the faint smell of vanilla flowing from his neck, which you were dangerously close to by the way, had you relax a bit and let him lower you to the couch.

"Thank you....- I believe I didn't catch your name." Your grateful expression stirred something in him and you weren't sure if you'd asked something wrong. In your book asking for names wasn't a sin against people.

"It's... Lucas. I'm Lucas." Clearing his throat he sat down beside you. As his hands came to rest in his lap you noticed that his fingers were adorned with rings much like yours. The only exception was that his were gold while yours were silver colored. You were too busy trying not freak out completely before to notice.

"Nice to meet you, Lucas." He hesitantly shook your outstretched hand as you introduced yourself. Carefully repeating your name he skimmed over your face once before looking over almost everyone on the balcony. He seemed to find a flicker of contentment in doing so because his whole body language changed. His back straightened, his legs parted slightly and he tilted his head a bit down as his eyes clouded over with something dark.

So, was he about to destroy the city or not?

You tried not to stare but he caught your eyes the second you lifted them to watch his face.

"See something you like?" He asked in a playful tone as his demeanor changed again completely.

Confusion settled on your face at his audacity before quickly changing into something that matched him when you spoke. "Plenty. Why? Interested in a taste, pretty boy?" Your cocky tone drew a smirk to his lips. He coated them with his tongue as he bore into your eyes.

"Delightful offer but I don't have time for such childishness tonight." He winked at you. "Don't let me break your wings... Although you would look much better with horns."

"Who says I don't have horns?" You snapped back with a smirk yourself. His gaze slipped down to your lips. "Besides, we shouldn't. I might leave you immobile for a few days and you certainly-" Your thoughts slid back to the dreams you continuously had and what part he played in them. "look like you have serious business here..."
