The next morning, I looked like crap and I didn't care really. I pulled on a sweatshirt and tied my hair up messily. Continental breakfast was one of the reasons I came here. It almost made it worth being a maid of honor.

I leaned back on the elevator watching the numbers decrease until floor two, where we were having breakfast. 5, 4, 3, 2, ding! I smiled and got out. I went directly to get a Styrofoam plate. "Hey." Someone scared me. I jumped, sending my bagel up in the air. He was laughing at me.

"Don't scare me like that." I said, getting another bagel.

"Sorry." He reached past me to get an orange. "How'd you sleep?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Good, why?"

He got a look of panic and nervousness. He obviously was not expecting the accusing and defensive mechanism I often have."I can't just be polite?"

"No, Aiden, you cannot." I scolded him and laughed. "I slept fine, thank you for asking."

He smiled and shook his head at me. "You're still weird."

I put a hand on my heart. "Why thank you, Aiden, for the gracious compliment." I jutted my lip out. I was supposed to be friendly with him, right? Right. I put a hand on his bicep and gave it a squeeze. That thing was rock hard.

"Uh, why don't you sit with us?" He resumed being an awkward teenager. It was kind of cute. I mean, it's always flattering to find out that a boy had a major crush on you.

"With you and Kendra? Sorry, but I told the bridesmaids I'd sit with them. Plus, it's a little awkward with me sitting in with the honored couple." I said. "Thanks for the offer. Tell Kendra I said 'hi'." I cocked my head and batted my eyelashes. This was getting weird for me. Something about it just made me shiver. I ended up doing that weird shoulder moving thing as I turned away.

I waved to him as I went to sit down at the table with Christian, Alani, and Lauren. "Do I have to do that all the time?" I groaned as I sat between Alani and Lauren at the small square table.

Kendra caught my eye and waved at me. I faked a smile like I've done for most of my life with her and waved back. She was really annoying with that happy, peppy exterior shell.

Lauren and Alani laughed. "Not really, you did that all on your own. You could tone it down." Lauren explained.

"What?" Christian asked.

"Are we not telling him or what?" I asked, biting into my bagel. I like food. My eyes looked between the two.

Alani shrugged. "Well, he doesn't like Kendra either." I snorted at the statement. I think deep down, everyone around here actually hated that girl. There is always a reason to. If there wasn't yet for you personally, then something will probably happen in the next few days because you jinxed yourself.

"Who told Aiden to propose after two years of dating?" I asked. "Because they obviously do not know Kendra or they want Aiden to be in a living hell." I thought.

"His mom." Christian said, spreading syrup over his waffle. "She's met Kendra four times and thinks she's an absolute doll." I rolled my eyes. That will be true only after she's dead. "So what is this thing that you guys did not mention to me?"

Lauren exhaled. "We're trying to breakup the happy couple." She said flatly.

Christian laughed. "Some supportive bridesmaids you are. Why?"

"Well, one, Kendra's a bitch, two, Aiden is going be bankrupt 30 days into the marriage, three, Kendra deserves to die alone." I said casually, sipping coffee. It was an everyday thing to talk about, I'm sure.
