There were definitely better things that I could have been doing at a time like this. I didn't know in particular what better thing I could have been doing, but standing next to a freaking out idiot of a man was neither pleasant nor productive.

"Pansies? My boss had written down orchids!" The stubborn man said for the forty-second time. I was so bored that I was counting. We both stood at the open butt of a delivery truck, peering in at its contents. It was filled with pillars of stunning white orchids that I was sure everybody would love at Kendra and Aiden's wedding; however, Lauren insisted that without any news about whether the wedding was still a thing or not, we should bide time by doing petty pranks and upsetting Kendra. So productive.

Frankly, I wasn't that much in the spirit for it.

I shrugged and sighed for the fifty-fourth time. "The bride told me that I was to sign for pansies and pansies only." I shook my head at the man dressed in a white jumpsuit with the logo of a Chad's Flower Store on the background. Never heard of the place, but whatever.

"Can't you just sign for this? Please. I don't want to get it from my boss." He asked me for the thirty-ninth time. I was really tired of this conversation. I felt bad, of course, that I was sending him to the dog house because of a stupid prank, but I was on orders from Lauren. I was always up from making Kendra yell a little anyways. I just didn't think the delivery guy would be this persistent. No, I meant just plain stubborn and annoying.

I shook my head again. "No. A bride's wedding day is supposed to be perfect." Not that I cared about Kendra's wedding day and its quality. "As the maid of honor, I have to make sure its perfect. Now I know you don't want your ass handed to you by your boss, but can you imagine what an angry bride will do? Your boss might yell or something, but a bride should not mess with. There's crying, yelling, panicking, freaking out, and a hell lot more." Every bride was different, but that was the gist of what could happen when a single detail was wrong. Knowing Kendra, she would probably do all of the above.

The deliveryman decided to initiate a staring contest with me that I didn't really want to participate in, but I did for the sake of acting like I was a dutiful maid of honor. I decided a long time ago that this guy was a menial idiot.

Everybody, though, this afternoon was busying themselves with tedious tasks so that their curious minds would have some distraction. Alani was spending the day at her dance studio. Christian was doing paperwork that wasn't due until the next week. Lauren had hatched three pranks and was working on more, one of which I was carrying out currently. We were all just biding our time.

Aiden and Kendra were in the same room for two hours earlier this morning after I had left Aiden with the shocking news. Each of us causally went past the room, Christian more than any of us since it was his room, to see if we could hear a semblance of what might be happening. For a while, maybe half an hour, the couple's voices had risen loud enough for me to hear in my room. I noticed pacing Aiden and arm waving Kendra through the sliding glass door. However, none of us knew what really had happened.

Then, Aiden walked out. He left without a word to anyone. He didn't take his bags our suitcases. He just took a jacket, his keys, wallet, and phone as if he was just going to run an errand. The thing was, though, that he has been gone for six hours, and the sun was nearly setting as I was pointlessly arguing with this menial idiot.

None of us could leave because we didn't know what was going on and if the wedding was still going on. Nobody could get a hold of Aiden. Kendra had slipped out around two this afternoon after staying in her room all morning. She didn't say anything either. I hadn't seen her since our encounter this morning. I had just heard the information because the couple was the hot topic for the day.
