Chapter 2

It's 5:30 right now, and I woke up exactly an hour ago. I didn't feel confident enough to go down the stairs already because I didn't wish to wake anyone else up, so I just decided to practice some math questions in my room.

I've been doing this since I woke up.

I really need to get some proper sleep; sleeping for 2 hours definitely won't help me out.

I sighed as I put my head on the study table and looked out the window in front of me to see the view of the sun rising.

My first day starts with my stepfamily.

I stood up from my seat and walked towards the bed, laying on it. I covered myself in the warm quilt and reached my hand out towards the bedside table, picking up my phone and AirPods that were placed next to it.

I plugged the device into my ear and played one of my favourite songs through my phone; it had been stuck in my head ever since Lisa had made me listen to it.

And just like that, I listened to that song on repeat until it was 8:32, because after that, I walked to the bathroom to get ready to go down by 9:00, since last night Mr. Kim announced that we should be down for breakfast by then.

"So what should I wear?" I was on FaceTime with Lisa, asking her what to wear for the day, but she seemed quite annoyed.

Maybe because it was 8:47 in the morning and she was still in bed, stuffed in her cozy blanket.

"Wear anything! Just don't disturb my sleep," she groaned frustratedly, and she aggressively ended the call.

A sad pout made its way onto my lips. I huffed. I'll get back to her later. I really need to find something to wear for now.

"Great, this would be perfect!" I said to myself. I chose to wear an off-white thick material jumper along with light grey ripped jeans and paired it with white sneakers.

I softly took my steps to the door and slowly opened it.

"AHH!" I yelped when I saw Bunny teeth in front of me, startling me to my core, and he just laughed out loud at that. Why him? Why always him? I turned red in embarrassment, and he just continued laughing.

"Oh no, are you okay?" 'Come on, don't be rude now.' I walked past him without saying a word, and he just followed behind, laughing.

"Hey! Don't be mad; I was here just to call you down for breakfast; I did not mean to startle you, little sis," he said, trying to catch up with my pace. I stopped in my tracks and turned to him, glaring at him, which he found funny because he laughed out loud again.

"Aw. Don't you look cute?" I just rolled my eyes and turned around, but as soon as I turned, my lips formed into a slight smile.

'Guess I found my favourite person after Lisa.'

I kept walking until I reached the dining table and saw everyone except Mom seated there doing their own things. They all looked up at me when they noticed my presence. I gave them an awkward smile.

"Morning," I said quietly, and I received it back only from Mr. Kim, Dimple Boy, Jinnie, and J-hope.

"Wahh! How do they get a 'morning' and I don't?" Bunny spoke from behind me. I looked at him and stuck my tongue out at him, then turned to Mr. Kim and asked

"Where's Mom?"

"In the kitchen, honey." I nodded and made my way to the kitchen. While leaving, I heard Dimple Boy ask, "Why are you standing there like you've just seen a ghost, Kook?" Was he talking to Jungkook? I turned around once again and saw Bunny Teeth looking at me with wide eyes, and his jaw dropped.
