The room was surrounded by thick tension.
Every person present is listening attentively.
It had all started eight years ago, when Y/N was 6 years old.
Her dad was a famous businessman, just like her stepdad.
Fame does bring money and claim success, but it also has the ability to complicate a person's personal life. Enemies, rumours, and more stuff such as those
Mr. Hwang, Y/N's dad
15 years before today, he met the love of his life, whom he married, and that led them into having their first child, their little baby girl, named Hwang Y/n.
Everyone cherished her, especially her beauty and smarts. She was one of a kind. A special one. One in a million.
Her parents adored her, but they were anxious at the same time. anxious that their fame would one day bring their only daughter huge problems.
7 months after Y/N was born, their lives took an interesting turn... The mansion beside the Hwangs mansion was being brought by the Manobal family.
Mrs. Hwang was the happiest because her new neighbours happened to be her old best friends from high school. They had two kids: a young daughter, Lalisa Manobal, who was only a year old, and their elder son, Jackson, who was 9.
Ever since that day, their lives had felt more at ease, and the two families often have gatherings and parties together. This had brought the kids quite close, to the point where they started understanding each other quite well. Especially the unique and strong bond that was created between Y/N and Lisa.
They were ready to kill and die for each other; that's how special their friendship was. 'Ride or Die'
Lisa was made to join school one year earlier, but she never felt lonely because Y/N soon joined her class, and she was made to skip two grades as per her 'outstanding' grades.
The two girls had practically spent all their lives together; of course, they understood each other better than anyone.
Four years later, Mr. Hwang received a call from his brother, saying that his son had found a job placement in their area and was looking for a place to live. Mr. Hwang offered him to go live with them, and they thankfully accepted it.
Days passed, and the guy they were expecting moved in to live with them. Hwang In-yeop, age 23. As time went by, Y/N realised how introverted he was; he'd always lock himself in and come out only when he had to go to work or eat.
One day she knocked at his door and went in without waiting for him to reply. He had decorated his room darkly. Too dark. That day, she caught hold of him, and they shared a heartfelt talk.
From that day forward, they got closer, and he opened up more to them.
Their problems were solved, but that did not mean they all completely disappeared.
Another year passed, and they had new neighbours moving in. 'Again'
The Choi's moved in with their son, Soobin, of 8 years.
Mrs. Choi was Mrs.Manobal's sister, and she was always jealous of everything her sister had.
When they moved in, it was like a part of their daily routine to annoy or taunt the Manobals and the Hwangs.
In return, they either got an insult thrown back at them or were completely ignored.
During this time, Y/N met Soobin. Who she knew as 'the depressed boy.' They met when she was playing with Jackson, In-yeop, and Lisa in the park near their house.
On the first day they met, he vowed to marry her when they were old enough to get married. And just like his parents, he made it a part of his daily routine to make sure to speak cheesily with her, even after he got a warning from her brothers to stay away from her.
He had joined the same school the girls had joined, and the first thing he did was ask every boy to stay away from Y/N.
He was never the one to listen; he was not to blame; it was his parents. All they could do was pressure their son and show greed.
A few months passed when one day In-yeop brought a beautiful girl over to their home, introducing her as his girlfriend.
They could never be happier for him, especially Y/N.
She found her first unnie, Moon Ga Young.
As time flew by, everyone just kept growing closer and closer. Their bond was unbreakable until...
Tables turned around.
Their world fell apart.
Their lives underwent a horrific change.
When,
Mr. Hwang died. He was killed. Right in front of his daughter.
When they walked down the isolated street at night together, just because they wanted to spend some father-daughter time, they were attacked by some goons. That night, her dad was stabbed 10 times in front of her eyes.
Red liquid, or blood, flowed all around the place. Her loud cries as she saw all that echoed on the empty street A police officer passing that way stopped when they spotted her. They immediately called an ambulance and started their investigations.
By the time he reached the hospital, he had already been declared dead.
This put Y/N in deep trauma. She hated blood. She was terrified of blood.
That horrifying day led her to experience insomnia.
If her father's death wasn't enough to bring her sorrow, the same day In-yeop went missing, the family found out he was working for the mafia and claimed that he was the one who sent those goons to kill Mr. Hwang.
They were completely shattered.
Two days later, the police found a severely injured Ga Young, which put her into a coma. The doctors stated that she wouldn't wake up anytime soon. at least not for years.
Nothing got better; things just kept getting worse and worse.
Y/N locked herself in, and so did Mrs. Hwang. They did not speak for days. But to make it sound a bit better, Y/N had her best friends, and Mrs. Hwang had hers to console them, but not for long.
A week after Mr. Hwang's death, Lisa and Jackson's parents lost their lives in a tragic accident.
Having no where to go, they ran to their selfish aunt's house and begged at her feet to let them stay with her, but she did not show any sign of pity and shut the door in their faces.
For the first time in the whole week, Y/N put a stop to her tears.
She promised herself to stay strong. She was broken, but she knew better that she had to fix the others; they were more important.
She had a talk with her mom to encourage her.
Mrs. Hwang brought Lisa and Jackson with her. She took all three kids and left for England just the next day to make a new and fresh start. She took all of Mr. Hwang's future business plans with her at the thought of taking over it.
They also transferred Ga Young near them so she could have better medical facilities for her fast recovery. To them, she was also a part of their family.
The day before they left. Soobin saw Y/N in the park, sitting by herself on the swing. He went to her and tried to tease her again. But Y/N was frustrated, so she let it all out with a hard punch in his face.
That was the last time they met.
When they moved countries, Y/N made sure to keep them all strong together. Their wounds were starting to heal. Mrs. Hwang had successfully taken over her late husband's business.
They were all slowly recovering.
Years passed. Things started getting better. When Jackson was old and independent enough, he moved back to South Korea with Lisa to take over his parents business. He did not want to be more of a burden on Y/N's mom.
Y/N was kind of sad; her best friend was leaving.
A year later, Mrs. Hwang suddenly announced to her daughter that she was in love again and was moving back to South Korea to marry and live with him. The girl wasn't satisfied but was happy for her mom.
And after all that, here they all are, trying to carry on with their lives.
Old wounds have been pressed again; will they bleed?___________________________________
