"I want to go home." The 15-year-old whined

"Me too, honey, me too! Just 4 hours, 12 minutes, and 25 seconds left for this dragging day to end—we've got this! We've got a lunch break in like 2 hours anyway." Her only best friend chuckled, responding to her as she glanced at the board while taking notes in her book.

Lisa sighed, grabbing her pen and looking over Y/N's book, putting down what she missed out on.

They were in their class right now, sitting through the most boring lesson of the day. History. So fun, right?

While Y/N had her focus on looking at the board, she did not sense a pair of eyes watching her with adoration.

You do not have to be smarter to guess who it was.

The one and only Choi Soobin

Over the past month, they have grown very close. It would be understandable to call them friends or even buddies, except that the majority of the time they had huge yet funny conflicts with each other.

It turned out that Soobin was right about Y/N knowing him so well. She did understand him; she knew he sought love that his parents were failing to give him, so she did it for him from their side.

She made him openly smile again for the first time in years. A real smile came from him, followed by a real laugh. He was slowly starting to keep control of his anger and be more respectful to his teachers and schoolmates.

One thing was for sure: She brought the best out of him. He sure loved being around her.

And the other thing was that his grades were rapidly increasing. All thanks to Y/N.

He smiled to himself, admiring her.

"And that's the bell; you can leave for your next lesson!" Their history teacher sighed.

Soobin snapped. 'Shit'. He mumbled under his breath and took a glance at Y/N with fright. Due to being so busy creepily staring at her, he had forgotten to take notes for this lesson.

If you know Y/N well, she is sweet and kind but passionate and fierce too.

He gulped a huge lump as their eyes met, and she sent him a glare, already knowing he wasn't paying attention to the class. He never did.

She slides her bag up her shoulder and walks out, maintaining the glare.

"Stop glaring at the poor guy!" lisa nudged

"Do you want a glare instead?"

"Nah, I'm good; you can continue!" She let out a nervous laugh.

After two exhausting hours, it was finally lunchtime. The best friends walked to the cafeteria and took a seat at the table where their other friends were seated.

"Heyyyy guyss~" Rosé squealed, greeting them with a wide smile.

"Well, someone looks excited." Lisa frowns.

"Why wouldn't she be?" Jisoo chuckles

"What's up?" Y/n questions

"Remember that environmental care contest from last week? Yeah, she won it!" Jennie gives a proud smile.

"Oh my, that's great! Good job, rosé!" the best friends cheered.

"We should totally go out to celebrate her win!" Lisa suggested receiving a nod from everyone at the table.

"shopping tomorrow?"

"Sure!"

"But in the afternoon, though, because Y/n has-"

"-To tutor Soobin," the three girls continued for Lisa, then laughed.

"Oh no, it's fine. You guys can go whenever you want to."

"Shut up! There's no way we are going without you!"

"Ok," the girl says, raising her hands in surrender.

A few moments later, five boys walked towards their table, placing more chairs around it and taking a seat on them.

Jennie blazed at them, then scoffed.

"Ever heard of the word privacy or permission?"

"That's not a word in our dictionary!" One of the guys winked.

Choi Yeonjun. A best friend of Soobin.

"Whatever," Jisoo said as she sipped her drink after rolling her eyes.

"C'mon guys, don't be like that; we are friends!"

The other guy, Choi Bomgue, a friend of Soobin, smirked.

"Since when?" Rosé mocked.

"Since Soobin and Y/N were friends?"

Another friend of Soobin called Kang Taehyun laughed.

"And since when were they friends?" Lisa huffed at the level of their overconfidence.

"Don't be like that to your cousin."

Hueining Kai, one more friend of theirs, gave them a dirty look, feeling offended.

"Ok, that's enough questions and answers. Let's eat for now; I'm starving." Y/n whined

"Yh mee too!" Soobin whined the same way she did.

They all shot their heads up at him, frowning in suspension.

"Is he drunk?" Lisa whispers to Kai, who is sitting beside her.

"Maybe, how would I know?" he shrugs

"Who made his drink this morning? I wonder if there was something added to it?" Y/N looked horrified.

"What? Guys, can we just eat?" he smiled. Choi Soobin smiled at them all, openly, in school.

"Ok, that's it. I'm calling the ambulance!" Yeonjun reached for his phone.

"He did not hit his head somewhere, did he?" Bomgue and Taehyun share a look of confusion.

The guy just sighed, rolled his eyes, and started to eat.

"Oh yeah, we are going out tomorrow, boys. You wanna join?" The girls asked their guy friends, receiving an excited nod from them.

"But where, though?"

"Shopping!" The girls smiled, and the boys dropped theirs.

"What?" They widened their eyes.

"Imagine shopping with five girls!" The girls huffed, annoyed at the boys being a tease.

"Y/N and Soobin, you two can leave together right after your tutoring session. Let's meet at the mall by 12:30."

"Sure"

This was all normal for them—teasing and hanging out. Since they are all close now. Really close.

Maybe nothing changed at home for Y/N, but at school there were quite a few changes. Even though she didn't want to, the girl became more popular with each passing day. Soobin and his friends were invited to sit with the girls, and that's how they all ended up being close friends.

Talking about their closeness, even Lisa and Soobin made up; they had cleared all previous misunderstandings. They had come to the conclusion that it was all between their parents, mostly his, and it should not have affected their relationship.

They decided to give it a chance and bond. They wanted to make up for all the time they had missed together in the past. But they also had no intention of letting his parents or her brother find out about it. They just wanted to bond as cousins, like siblings, without any drama.

All of them Being close friends, their bickering did not stop but increased. Maybe 99% of the time they fought with each other, but that 1% of the time they fought for each other.

That's what friendship is, right? When friends can walk in opposite directions yet remain side by side.

Close friends are truly life's treasures. Sometimes they know us better than we know ourselves. With gentle honesty, they are there to guide and support us, to share our laughter and our tears. Their presence reminds us that we are never really alone.

Her head popped through the slightly opened door, and she peered inside, scanning the empty room.

"Hello?" she whispered to her partner over her airpod since they were on a call.

"Is the coast clear?" her partner whispered back.

They were on a serious mission right now. They had to be quite careful and mindful of not getting caught.

"Yup, clear! The lights are off too!"

"Code green; you have exactly fifteen minutes to go and grab it and use your torch. I'll time you!" The girl on the other line smirked, mischeviously rubbing her hands together. "Your time starts now!"

The girl rushed inside the room, grabbing her torch and looking around. She ran towards the wardrobe placed in the corner, slowly opening it. She dug in thoroughly, trying to find what she wanted.

"Found it!" She yelled, pulling the thing out and securely hugging it tight.

"But it's only been 1 minute and 25 seconds; that's a world record!"

"Mission accomplished," they squealed together. They started juggling around in their places.

The girl in the room froze and stood still as soon as the room's light switched on.

"Y/n?"

"Kookie oppa!" She quickly hid the thing in her hands behind her back and gave an awkward smile, scratching her nape in embarrassment at being caught.

"Why are you here?" He looked at her in confusion and asked, "And what are you hiding?"

She bit her lip and looked down.

"Agent Y/N, is everything okay?"

"Nooo, Agent Lisa, I got caught." Y/N stomped her feet and whined.

"Oh, anyway, it's late; I should go to sleep. Bye, good night; I love you, hehehe." Lisa ended the call in fear, leaving Y/N speechless.

'But it's only 7 p.m.'

Jungkook grew more confused and curious.

"Y/n, what were you doing in Jungkook's room?" Her seven brothers interrogated the girl who sat in front of them on the couch, munching on her potato crisps with a pout.

"For this!" She pulled out a big black cloth that looked heavy, and it was

"A hoodie?" they frowned.

"You said I couldn't have a boyfriend until I was 60 or something."

"And what has that got to do with you stealing my hoodie?"

"Well, it's a girl ritual; she either steals her boyfriend's hoodie or her favourite brother's... Now, how bad would I look wearing a hoodie at 60? So... I'm sorry," she said, looking down. She was met with puzzled looks.

They took a second to process what she just said, and when they realised it, Jungkook ran to her, cupping her cheeks and pulling her into a tight hug.

"Oh MaY gAwD are you ok?" She tries to pull out.

"Why are you so cute?" he pulled out, cooing at her.

"Aw, Y/N, that was cute, but that's Jungkook's hoodie, not mine." Yoongi gave a tight smile.

"I know?"

"So what you're trying to say is that you did mean to steal his hoodie?"

"Yh-ohhh, don't worry guys, I did not mean it like that; I promise I love you all equally!"

"But you said you stole your favourite brother's hoodie?"

"I thought you didn't do favourites."

"No, and I thought you loved me the most!"

"How could you do this to me, Y/N, after that Subway sandwich I brought you last night?"

"Cmon guys, just agree that I'm her favourite."

"HUSH!" She stood up. "I stole his hoodie because his room was the closest to mine. I promise I don't do favourites!" They looked at her for a second. Then they looked at each other and started arguing about who their sister loved the most.

'Look what you've done now, Y/N, she sighs, dropping herself on the couch again and starting to eat her crisps from before.

She looked at them and sulked.

'Another long day! Watch out for me, Lisa; I'm coming for you!'
