Since when was it so hard to breathe?
The crowd of campers was starting to clear up, especially the newer ones. They were scared of the harpies.
Harpies guarded the camp, making sure campers didn't stay out past curfew or if they tried to leave camp without permission.
He was close, I could feel him breathing.
Soon the fireworks stopped and the campers started to head out, and eventually it was just Nico and me.
"Neeks," i started, brushing my fingers over his hair.
"Yeah?" he mumbled, leaning more into me.
"The harpies are gonna come after us soon,"
"Don't worry, they don't mess with me," he whispered in my ear.
I smiled and ran my fingers around his hair.
"Unless you wanna go-" he said and started to pull away.
"No, no, stay, please," I whispered the last word.
He smiled and leaned in, laying his head on my chest.
I ran my hand through his hair and leaned back, letting myself fall asleep.
