i have register duty today and joshua has restocking duty.

a lady with a pink blouse and a tall child attached to her come up to the register.

"do you have the new pierce the veil album?"

"unfortunately, that album doesn't come out until about a month later," i reply. 

"really when?"

"early february."

"oh.. thank you so much."

"no problem. but you're happy to join around if you'd like?"

the lady looks at her kid, "moss, would you like to look around?"

her kid nods and then goes to look at some other albums. the kid goes to about where joshua is stationed to stocking the albums.

"thanks so much..." she stops and looks at my name tag, "tyler."

"my pleasure, miss."

she smiles and follows moss, who's taken up a conversation with joshua. i watch as he talks with the kid. it's nice knowing he gets along so well with kids.

"conan! hey!"

conan smiles toward my way.

"here to take over joshua's shift."

"no i know. you're on register duty though, i'm gonna go take my lunch then."

"oh okay," he says and raises his eyebrows.

"oh shut up," i laugh, taking joshua's hand.

we walk down to the sandwich shop a few stores down.

"i love you," he whispers in my ear before ordering our food.

"i love you more," i whisper back as we get our food.

"i love you more," he whispers as we look for a place to sit.

i take his tray of food, "admit i love you more or you're starving today."

he sits in his seat. 

"you're gonna give that back to me, because you have a thirty minute break and also you're not gonna let me starve."

he stares at me with his lovely eyes. and his pretty face.

i sit down and slide his tray back over to him.

"haha. i win."

"be quiet you adorable asshole," i reply.

"i love you, ty."

"i love you too, j."
