im at the register, waiting for customers to walk in while subconsciously thinking about me and joshua's wedding, trying not to think about cost. but while trying not to i am. i can't justify spending two hundred plus money on a single tux just for me. doing it for him, that's easy. way too easy. i'd sell my soul for him.

"hello?"

"hi! welcome to vinyl shelf, how can i help you?"

"hello. do you have any albums by panic! at the disco?"

"pre solo brendon or post solo brendon?"

"who's brendon?"

"... brendon urie? he's the one that took over after too weird to live, too rare to die?"

"sorry.. my daughter likes the band... the one called ryan?"

"oh. pre solo. do you know her favorite album?"

"uhm.. yes it's too weird to live, too rare to die... i think. does that have ryan in it?"

"would you like me to get it? if you know what it looks like?"

"please. thank you for being so nice about it. i know almost nothing about panic! at the disco."

i nod, "thank you, i try. i will be right back with that album."

she nods after me.

i go into the back room and start to search through the boxes with panic albums. i grab too weird to live, too rare to die and stop right before the door that goes back toward the register.

"have you been helped already?" i hear joshua ask the lady.

"oh yes. thank you josh. his name was tyler. he helped me."

"tyler is the best, isn't he?"

my face lights up and i blush a little.

i know my fiancé saying i'm the best shouldn't make me blush as hard as it does, but it is just so nice to hear. especially from him.

"he's very kind. i bet his soon to be wife is a special lady."

my smiles drops a little.

"wife?"

"he has an engagement ring... just like you! both of your soon to be wives are very lucky to have you two."

"t-thanks ma'am. well if he's already helped you, i'll just go back to stocking."

i can hear how upset he is, even if he sounds nice and polite still.

"have a nice day," the lady tells joshua.

"you too." he replies shortly.

i come with the album in my hands and show the woman.

"this one?"

"oh! yes that one. my daughter says she has all the ones with ryan minus this one."

"oh."

"what about the ones after?"

"ryan left the band after too weird to live, too rare to die. the ones after are just brendon."

"well she doesn't like brendon, but i think he is better than any of the others. i like the later albums where brendon solos. plus he is kind of hot."

that's not really... true, but okay.

"fairly said."

"what things did he do, if you'd tell me."

"i can't talk about that... it's not work professional."

"oh! well.." she looks down at my engagement ring, "i wanted to say congratulations to you."

"oh?"

"your ring."

i look down at my engagement ring.

"tell your soon to be wife, congratulations."

"oh."

"you as well. congratulations, son."

"thank... you. is this all? i can ring you up."

"yes please."

"okay."

i scan the album and put it into a bag.

"thank you."

"thank you for shopping at vinyl shelf, please come again."

"thank you," she repeats and leaves the store.

i look over at joshua, he's looking at me already.

it's all over our faces...

today is going to be a long day.
