two months until.

"we need a gun, you know? and masks."

"i know, name everything we need. i'll write it down," i say.

im spread into the floor. pen in my hand, plans on my knees and next to them.

"guns, masks, ammo, money."

"haha, funny."

"thank you."

"okay. so you have to work today, right?"

"yeah."

"okay, ask matty when i have my next shift and see if there's any days we'll be closed soon."

"you got it babe."

"you're working with matty today anyways, right?"

"yeah."

"okay, i'll keep planning then, you let me know how it goes when you get home, yeah?"

"yeah."

i stand up and kiss him on the lips.

"we're doing this all for us, right?"

"right baby."

he smiles, "i'll see you after work."

im adjusting the papers and putting them in neat stacks on our dining table. i feel a little guilty, i feel like i'm not pulling the weight of our family.

i hear the front door open and in comes my fiancé.

"how was work?" i ask him, smiling.

"it was fine," he shuts the front door behind him. "i got the answers for your questions."

"and what are they?"

"you're gonna have to work tuesday and thursday of next week. we're both off saturday. and matty said the next time we're closed is in a few months."

"specifically?"

"two months."

"good. we have enough time to buy supplies, plan, and let ashley know."

"i'm surprised she agreed."

"they had the same thought as me. plus nobody's gonna die. so it's not a big risk, i don't think matty owns guns."

"yeah, and nobody else can technically have guns in the shop, i don't think."

"yeah."

we jump on the couch together and hold hands.

"do you think... this is such a bad idea?"

"we could have worse ones."

"i don't think that excuses this one."

"i wouldn't worry."

"are you sure?"

"everything will be okay."
