he's smiling at me. his teeth are shown from across the room as i go through our bills and he's doing our laundry. i don't know how he's not worried he'll fold something incorrectly while he's staring at me.

the tv plays in the background. even though the silence around him is comfortable. i just don't like the quiet. sometimes quiet is violent. to me at least.

and he wanted the tv on. even though he's not paying attention to it, or the laundry, only me.

"you're not paying attention to the laundry you're doing," i smile at him.

"how do you reckon?"

"you've been folding the same thing over and over the last three minutes."

he looks down at a pair of my boxers that he's been refolding.

he blushes and quickly folds them one last time before putting them in my pile.

"so, why are you paying so much attention to me?"

"because you're beautiful and i wanna know why you decided to like me in the eighth grade."

"you were cute.. and precious."

"i failed the eighth grade. what's precious about that?"

"if you didn't we probably wouldn't have even met."

"you were friends with ashley who was a grade ahead of us."

"yeah.. but we were childhood friends and next door neighbors. that's different."

"that's true."

"you're an angel."

"huh?"

"that's why i fell in love with you. your soft eyes, your long hair, which you cut off and i'm still mad about-."

his smile grows.

"and the way your hands fit in mine perfectly. we were better than a high school romance. we were a middle school romance. longer and better."

"is that why you wanna marry me so badly?"

"joshua dun. you and i finished high school early so we could spend our whole lives together."

"yes, and?"

"and, what better way to start it than to get married. i want to be bound to you in every way possible."

"tyler?"

"yeah, j?"

"god, i'm so in love with you."

"i'm so in love with you too."
