Clicking on the post on the school's gossip forum, Loid tried to find who posted it and what ill intentions they were thinking of. This was something serious because Charlotte could get hurt, and Loid never wanted anyone hurt. He was a happy go lucky guy, but when times were serious he could adapt.
Upon clicking on the profile, it seemed that it was a chris fan account. He blinked twice, thinking he saw something wrong, but it really was a fan account. Loid looked up at his friends, Johnson and Jack looked worried while Chris was busy cleaning up the mess he made on the wooden floor.
"It's a Chris fan account." Loid said with a confused expression.
Hearing this, he noticed how Johnson nearly spit out his drink and Chris looking confused. Who even makes fan accounts of their classmates? That must be some psycho, Loid thought. He tried going down the imaginary lists of girls in the cohort in his mind, manually eliminating the impossible suspects.
"Woah, Loid looks serious guys," Jack whispered softly, in a futile attempt to give Loid some quietness to think as the words came out in exclamation marks.
"I may know the culprit my dudes!" Loid exclaimed. It was as if a light bulb went off in his head. "I know her name starts with the letter S, but I don't really talk to her." he continued, frustrated about how he was so close to the name of the culprit but yet so far.
"Maybe we should text Charlotte to be careful and look at the post on the gossip forum?" Johnson suggested.
"Yo dude you're a genius!" Loid exclaimed, his smile lit up the whole room. "Chris, do you have her number?" He questioned.
"What? Definitely not." Chris was against the idea of texting Charlotte, I mean he's never texted a girl before. He always got Loid or his brother to do it for him.
"Bro, your fan girl, your responsibility." Johnson exclaimed as though he was the diplomat of the century, patting Chris on the shoulder, while Loid and Jack nodded in unison. Chris knew that the least he could do was to tell her about the situation before things escalated, knowing his reputation in school.
"Fine, I'll try to find her number in the class group chat." Chris gave in. He wasn't sure what to type. He stared out the window of the cafe, tapping his foot while watching the autumn leaves fall in the park. How the red leaves stood out against the grey sky that casted a fog of gloom over Amaryllis hill.
He'd type out 'Hey' and then delete it.
'How are you?' and he'd delete it.
'Charlotte.' and he'd delete it, too direct.
He was struggling. How could he have that much difficulty texting his deskmate?
"Bro, you good? You're taking a while." Jack finally broke the silence as he tapped his fingers against the hard cherry wood table, taking a sip of babycino from his porcelain flower-decorated cup.
"Well I uh...What do I say?" Chris asked awkwardly, in front of Charlotte he could tease and annoy her as much as he liked, but texting her was too much for him. He stood there, holding his Iphone in his right hand as he scratched the back of his head.
"Dude, are you serious?" Loid asked. He could tolerate a lot of things but not knowing how to text made him confused. He grabbed the phone from his homie and typed.
"Hey Charlotte! It's Chris. You should check the Amaryllis academy gossip forum dude! Someone's out to get you, you should watch your back! :)" Loid texted, handing the phone back to Chris.
"Bro what the fuck? I don't use that many exclamation marks and a smiley face, she'll think that I'm a weirdo." Chris said as he corrected the message.
"But you're already a weirdo!" Loid whined as Johnson covered his mouth, impressed by what Loid said.
Though Chris was slightly offended, he corrected the message.
"Hey Charlotte, it's Chris. You should check the school's forum because someone's out to get you. Do watch your back." Chris typed and showed the message to his friends.
"Dude you're boring over text." Jack complained.
"Whatever." Chris rolled his eyes, walking back to the cash register as he sent the message.
Now with that out of the way, the boys had bigger things to focus on, Math homework. Loid grabbed his mathematics book out of his bag. The book had a brown leather hard cover with the words 'Mathematics book : Volume 2' written in gold on it. As the rest of the boys got ready, Loid opened the book to the 98th page, dust flying in the air as he flipped the book.
"Dude, how long have you not used this textbook?" Johnson questioned as he saw the dust flying in the air.
"Uhh I don't remember when I last used it." Loid replied, placing the heavy book hard on the table, landing in a heavy 'thud' sound.
"Bro, I'm allergic to dus-" Jack exclaimed, letting out a loud sneeze that echoed in the tiny cafe.
"Alright boys, let's get to work."
