~Alyssa's POV~
She could hear the thumping footsteps of someone rushing through the hallways as she sat down by her desk, swiftly taking out her clear minimalist pencil case from MUJI, organising her pens according to colour. She loved having these coloured pens from MUJI, its sleek yet simple design was brilliant, perfect for quick sketches on her textbooks. The thumping grew louder, revealing a figure wearing that familiar green sweater barging through the door to the classroom, she could feel the vibration of the sheer force used to push open that door.
Jane was late as always, making up excuses that there was a long queue at the lavatories or that her previous class was dismissed later than usual. And it seemed that Ms Wang, their Literature teacher had given up trying to change this behaviour, it was too far above her paycheck to do such a thing, simply acknowledging Jane's presence with a nod as Jane strode her way to her seat.
"I see that everyone's here now." Ms Wang brought her coffee mug to her lips, her eyebags still visible even after coated with concealer. "Shall we begin then? Good morning class." That one sip of coffee seemed to have circulated her body quickly as she greeted the class energetically.
"Morning, miss." The class mumbled, unsynchronised.
