6 November 2022, 4.30am:
Laying in bed eyes wide open, Charlotte could hear the orchestra pieces the crickets made in the wee hours of the morning, accompanied by the backing vocals of the howling wind. She couldn't sleep, the scene at the party seemed to have etched in her mind, replaying over and over again like an ongoing carousel. Charlotte could feel the uncontrollable emotions that engraved itself on the surface of her heart as the rhythmic pitter-patter sound of raindrops fell against the glass window. What was she going to do when school starts tomorrow? How would everyone react? Would they turn their heads looking down disapprovingly as she scurried past them like a little rat trying to avoid mouse traps, or should she put on a brave face and look them back in the eye? Either way the spotlight seemed to be directly above her head, no not a spotlight, a laser beam. The type that she had bought for her precious cat, Yoko, back in September. Wherever she pointed the laser beam, Yoko's eyes seemed to sharpen as she locked down the target, bringing up her paws as she vigorously hammered down the red dot on the wall. But this time, Charlotte wasn't in control of the laser beam, she was the target herself. She let out a heavy sigh as she got up from her bed and drowsily walked towards the bathroom. If she couldn't sleep, she might as well get ready to see the sunrise.

To see the sunrise while everyone was asleep was calming for Charlotte. She could be alone, watching as plastics bags seemed to walk down the streets as the wind blew, no human in sight. Seo-jun probably didn't want her to be there anyway, she looked at Charlotte like she was some sort of threat to something mysteriously treasured. Anyway, the best place to view the sunrise would be a rooftop. That was when the idea struck, the rooftop Chris had brought her to the night before. That was an excellent place to view the sunrise. Charlotte looked over at the jacket that was laid neatly on her desk, before grabbing it to match her outfit. It had been a long time since she wrote any music, Charlotte thought as she grabbed her ball point pen as well as her notebook before heading out.
