Charlotte looked up at the morning sky, her blonde silky hair in braids tied with plain black rubber bands. Today, she felt like wearing the grey school vest with the Amaryllis flower logo sewn carefully onto it. Charlotte wasn't sure why but she felt like dressing up today, maybe it was the lively spirit of Fridays, a day to try something new. Headphones plugged in, she could see at the corner of her eye that Seo-jun was trying to talk to her, but she wasn't that interested in school gossip or Seo-jun at all to be honest. Though it seemed like Seo-jun didn't mind, Charlotte would nod every 15 seconds to assure Seo-jun that she was listening.

Charlotte would notice how familiar faces would congregate at the courtyard, some couples making their way to the 3rd floor corridor to make out. Laughter echoed through the corridors of Amaryllis high, giving it life after the quiet, misty night. She was starting to get the hang of things here, it was good progress.
As she made her way to the 2nd floor, Charlotte would notice that she was catching people's attention. Girls would stare her down as she walked by them, confused. Was her new hairdo really that atrocious? She'd whip out her phone from her bag to check on her hair, but something caught her eye. A number she'd not saved had texted her. She'd look over the balcony of the open corridor, admiring the view of the maple trees, contemplating whether to click on it or not. And after careful consideration, she did.
