Bangkok, 2015
"Watch out!"
The motorcycle suddenly swerved to avoid the collision. The man who was driving turned his head with an angry look on his face and lifted his middle finger towards Pete and Tam who had just the time to back down quickly.
Pete threw his almost empty cup of milk at him, but the driver was already far away, driving way above the speed limit.
"Yeah! That's right! Run you son of a b..." Pete shouted, kicking the air, exasperated.
"Pete?"
"Did you see that?! He almost killed us!"
"Yes, I told you Bangkok is freaking wild."
"Are you okay?" Pete asked, lifting Tam's arms and spinning him around to check if he was hurt.
"Oii! Stop! I'm fine! I'm not a kid anymore."
"Yeah right!" Pete sneered taking a bite of his moon ping.
The two young men were walking in the street of the capital on this cloudy Saturday.
Tam came from Chumphon to spend the weekend with Pete. The later was now working two jobs here, trying to save enough money to hopefully being able to apply for a job for Khun Korn.
Tam on the other hand was still living with his mother, working a part time job too in a small town near their hometown beside his study to become an expert in gemstones.
"So, what do you want to do tonight? We could go grab something to eat and go watch a movie. Or! Maybe we could go get some drinks and get drunk together it could be fun." Pete asked Tam, walking casually a few steps before him.
"Drink...Yes, why not. I sometimes forget we are both twenty now."
"So, what do you want to do? Popcorn or bear?"
"Actually...I-I already have something in mind..."
"Tell me"
"I-I never been to a bar and...Since I am in Bangkok I...Well maybe we could..." Tam was stuttering, obviously embarrassed.
"Oh, come on, spit it out!"
"Gay bar."
"Gay bar?"
"I would like to go...there." Tam scratched his neck looking down. Pete shook his head, rolling his eyes.
"Oii! That's it?! I thought you were going to say you were about to die, you bastard" Pete slapped Tam's shoulder. The later rub it quickly, frowning.
"So, it means that...you don't mind?"
"Why would I? It's just a bar, a bar with only men. I don't care where I am as long as I can get waste."
Pete took a bite of his moon ping again and handed the rest to Tam. He grabbed it, looking both confused and annoyed.
"Hey! Why do I always have to eat your leftovers!? Why don't you just give me one?"
"Oiii! I'm poor! You should be the one to buy me food."
"Excuse me I'm not rich enough to be able to satisfy your appetite, you freaking sinkhole! And I'm the guest here."
"Well...Yes, but you don't have to pay for a hotel so it's almost like you are here for free."
"I swear tonight I'm not going to buy you shit! You are getting drunk with your own money"
"Wanna bet?" Pete lifted his hand in the air a sly smile on his face. Tam looked at Pete's hand and into his eyes alternately, his eyebrows lifted.
