Second family's mansion, Bangkok, 2008.

"Fareuflyt!"

"Fire-flies!"

"Fereuflight!"

"FIREFLIES! You dummies ! »

The sun was already set and everything around was calm and silent apart from the genuine and happy laugh of the three kids playing in the back yard on this hot summer night.

Not too far away, her shoulder casually leaned against the wood post of the outdoor terrace, a woman was watching them, a genuine smile on her face, holding a glass of wine.

She was tall, dressed in a flower dress, red lips and bare feet. Her long and black hair were swept by the soft breeze. And her two dark marble eyes holding tenderness and love were shinning.

She was about to take a sip of her glass of red wine when suddenly someone snatched gently the glass away from her hand and put it away on the table next to them.

She turned, startled. The man then grabbed her by the waist and stole her a kiss, smiling from ear to ear.

"Stop! They are going to see us!" She said, embarrassed and uneasy but a little smirk started to draw on her lips as the man's hand slowly brushed his hand on the small of her back.

"They are too busy playing; they don't even notice you were there from the start." The man said pulling her into his arms gently, sniffing her neck.

"I know but...What if someone sees us?"

The woman pushed the man's shoulder and looked around still trying, with no conviction at all, to push him away even if it was clear she didn't want him to stop.

She was just scared. Scared of being caught.

Because this man was not her husband. Her husband left the family house two days ago for what he used to call a "work trip". But she knew very well what it meant. Unless sleeping with young girls from other countries was a job, there was no work implied.

The man looked at his beautiful lover with a compassionate smile. He then pulled her more against him and grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him.

"Rin, I know."

"What do you know?" She said sarcastically, pressing her forehead against his, teasing him.

The man chuckled and grabbed her hand. He slowly brought it to his mouth and kissed her fingers.

She looked at him do, her eyes enlightened by the dim lights surrounding them. And she smiled timidly, closing her eyes, embarrassed.

"I know you are scared. But it's okay. Next time we will take the kids and go somewhere else. Let's say...Koh Samui or Koh Mak! What do you think, huh? Just the five of us on an island far away from here. Far away from your husband...Far away from the mother of my daughter."

The woman looked at her lover deep in the eyes imagining the perfect picture he just paint. But she shook her head.

"You really are a dreamer."

The woman pushed her lover's chin away slightly before letting go of his hand to grab her glass of wine back, smiling.

"Well, probably. But I still think there's a future for us. You know that I won't let you go, Rin"

The woman's smile slowly faded away as she heard his words pronounced with determination. She drank the red liquid from her almost empty glass all at once and turned her head above her shoulder, looking at her lover.

"I just wish we met sooner."

The man looked at her with a tender and compassionate gaze, knowing perfectly what she was feeling. Because he was feeling it too.
