8 months earlier, Chiang Mai, 2021.

Tam drove all day under the burning and suffocating sun. He drove without even stopping once, focus on the road.

In a trance, in a daze, determined to put an end to his misery.

In his mind, it was clear. Clear as the sky that fell on his head a couple of days ago when he learned that his friend, the friend he loves, sold his own body and soul to the devil.

Tam drove nine hours until he finally reached his destination.

He parked in front of the house, and got out the car, his eyes lifted up, staring at the huge mansion.

The Glass house. A house whose walls turned into windows. An open house, opened to the view of all, yet hiding the darkest secrets of a dangerous and evil man.

But Tam never hesitated. He was ready. He was prepared.

He approached the door, and, taking a deep breath, he finally knocked.

The large door opened to a maid who welcomed him, smiling.

"Khun Puangchan, please come in. He is waiting for you in the leaving room. Right here in the hallway, then on your left."

Tam bowed and timidly entered, trying to hide the fact that he was impressed.

The walls were painted in black, with stylish wood moulding on the door. He lifted up his gaze and noticed that even the ceiling was in glass, letting the sunlight enlightened the place. Yet, everything felt cold around him.

As he kept walking slowly in the large hallway, he could progressively hear the sound of classical music playing. And a smell of cigar.

When he finally arrived, his eyes were caught right away by the tall figure of man standing next to a bar, a glass of liquor in one hand, and a cigar in the other.

The man slowly turned his head to the side, just enough to show his profile above his shoulder.

"Right on time." The man said with a soft and gentle voice.

He didn't turn around to welcome Tam. He stood still, smoking. Yet Tam bowed without saying a word.

"Do you like classical music, Khun Puangchan?"

Tam was taken aback by the question. He actually never listened to it. Well, never on purpose. He knew nothing about those great composers from another time.

But his mother did. She loved to listen to them, and mostly to a song when he was a little child, way before she started to lose her mind.

But Tam never knew the name of this song. He only knew his mother loved it to the point that she used to played it on the piano often, before going to sleep, as a lullaby to ease his young heart.

"I'm sorry to admit that I know nothing about classical music"

"What a shame. You have no idea what you are missing."

The man finally turned around to reveal his face.

A sly smiled drawn on his lips, yet a soft smile. A wicked and lunatic gaze, but welcoming and gentle at the same time.

It was the first time he was standing in front of him. The first time he was seeing his face in person, not on picture.

And he understood why people were so unsettled around him. The man's duality was something Tam never saw before in anyone else. Except one person...and this person was the reason why he was here.
