Ranger In training Chap.1

The sun had risen within Sumeru, and within Gandharva Ville the birds were chirping their usual tunes and or flying about, you turned over In your bed as your hair was covering your eyes but you roused to move it out the way, just as you heard the sounds of pounding on the door of your little house within the trees, you rolled over as you tried to ignore and go back to sleep

"(Y/n)! are you awake?"

you heard the voice of your master Tighnari, you sighed and sat up "Yes Sir!"

"Good, breakfast is almost ready come on"

you threw the blankets back off of you, you then stood up as you went to go wash your face using the water basin before you cleaned your teeth, and brushed through your hair that seemed It wouldn't stop growing with it being past your waist, you braided it and went to go change into your usual clothes (Everyday outfit) along with your boots, putting your vision onto your waist before you headed out of your house and down the stairs as you made your way to the dining area where the rangers ate, 

grabbing a sunsettia fruit as you went to go sit down, just as Tighnari came 

"There you are"

just then you saw Collei, you smiled "Morning Collei!"

she smiled, "Hey! good morning"

you gave her a careful pat on the head, though her Eleazar was gone she still had many mental scars so physical contact was tough, but she allowed you sometimes

you were close with Collei and she saw you as an older sister as she didn't have any siblings, you were her senior in terms of age but that didn't stop the bond between you both, Ashpazi the chef of Gandharva Ville came around with what was for breakfast, you started eating some flatbread and dipped It into the jam that came with it, before you had some of the mixed rice with meat just as you started wondering 

"Master, is Cyno coming today?"

Tighnari shook his head, "no not this time, he's busy with a case concerning Canned Knowledge"

you gave a look of disappointment, "Oh"

Tighnari patted your head, laughing "don't worry I'll let him know how much you miss him"

you blushed, "Master come on"

you brushed him off and took a bite of the sunsettia fruit, just as Collei started giggling 

"Master look, she's still blushing do you like General Mahamatra that much?"

you hid your face, "stop It Collei, I just really admire him that's all"

Tighnari chuckled, "alright, that's enough for now finish breakfast okay, Collei you'll be studying for your test later right"

"Yes Master!"

he then looked to you, "And (Y/n), you'll be coming with me for some more training"

you nodded In response, continuing to eat as Tighnari filled you in on what you'd be doing for the day and you'd try your best to meet his expectations, after you finished eating you went to go grab your pack and gloves before following Tighnari as you ventured into the forest,

though you lived there now you still found yourself taken by the nature, though you were born and grew up in the desert but you had the dream to do something good and do good, and that was why you came to Sumeru City to find just what It was you wanted to do after turning nineteen, upon getting in contact with General Mahamatra he pointed you to the forest rangers after telling he was close friends with the head ranger, and he introduced you to Tighnari so now the rest was history as you'd been there for a few months now

you followed Tighnari through the path, just as you then giggled as you got an idea so you held onto his tail and he let out a sigh "you're the only one I let do that you know,"

"I know"

Tighnari shook his head, "anyway, step lively we're almost there"

you nodded and let go of him as you continued walking, Tighnari found your energy to be positive but also sometime not knowing what to say to you, but he knew you had a good heart and he'd become fond of you in time you'd been there so far, he saw promise in you

Tighnari suddenly stopped and came to a halt, sniffing the air before he gestured to you and you followed him through a brush into a barren area, 

you furrowed your brows, "what happened here?"

"Remnants of the withering, though It doesn't happen anymore thanks to Lesser Lord Kusanali"

you walked over as you looked at the barren area, kneeling as you touched the dirt 

"Is there a way to fix this?"

Tighnari smiled, "yes, and that's why we're here, I brought a formula I made that should help the grasses to at least start growing again, it's not harmful to the animals or forest Itself you just have to sprinkle It around"

you nodded, "okay"

he handed you the bottle and you then went to go sprinkle It about the barren area, and before your eyes you saw the grass starting to grow again, you smiled and clasped your hands

"Amazing!"

Tighnari came over, "let's not celebrate just yet this is just the first step there's more area's that need to be saved, come on"

he gestured and you followed him as you went through another pathway, but then all of a sudden your foot got caught under a root which made you trip "Ow! Damnit!"

Tighnari looked back and laughed a bit, before he came to help you stand up and he brushed off your shoulders "Thank you, I guess I'm still getting used to this environment"

"you've gotten better getting around here then before"

Tighnari went over to one of the tree's and started climbing up "come on,"

you went to follow him and climbed up to the top, with him then helping you onto the branch as you looked out to see the rest of the forest from above, It was quite the sight but then you started shaking as you'd always hated heights, "Master, what was the point of this?"

"Just to look, sorry I forgot you're afraid of heights"

you lightly hit him, "how could you forget that"

Tighnari laughed and patted your head before he went down the tree first, and you soon followed after as you continued going to heal the barren spots in the forest.

(This takes place after the Sumeru Archon quests, and Story Quests so Collei is free of her Illness and the withering has stopped,)
