Am i the first person talking about this thing on wp? Lol. Nvm. Just a rant with my opinions, criticism and thoughts on certain ads shown in indian TV channels.
Ppl over ads usually don't care about spreading some actual awareness but at least glad Akshay doesn't feels awkward over telling ppl to boycott cigarette in an ad of Pads "Heropanti cigrate fookne me nahi h, yeh pad dene mein hain" (I really like Akki, Prabhas and John Abraham for some reasons.. and yeah his Oh My God still tops my fav reality movies. Akshay is funny, gentle and charming altogether, see his early movies i really love those )
Meanwhile, ig in an ad where the father forces him to pursue MBA only, but then Ranveer Singh saying "MBA= Main Banunga Actor" was kinda funky but nice lol at least some ad which doesn't makes ur kids feel bad for not being a bournvita ad types "24/7 hardworking" topper/ athelete . I mean their "Man ko loha banao" (ok now stone hearted ppl will turn metals too, good good..) really creates "unintentional" standards of perfection, forceful motivation ideas which end up in parents' mind to consider their kids are coward n weak for being depressed. I understand the psychological impact of these ads that's why i 100% dislike it even if their motiv was to encourage, it's still downgrading with its mismanaged narration which can be misinterpreted easily ☕
5 star's new creative ads "Kabhi kuch Nahi karke bhi dekho" are far better lol at least they don't make ur parents feel u are useless XD they shed light on the fact sometimes not doing anything isn't a bad thing.
Have u seen that weird loud crazy types recent Coke ad? I think it's one of the cringiest ones, the absurd senselessly loud noisy song/scream in the ad isn't something any sane person will find good. Not good for neuro and heart patients especially to come across it accidentally.
A certain face product ad adds oil to the fire of judgy world. At one side they talk about not judging others. At another side they're stating "Your face should shine and glow like ur success" another narrated in an ad says you to aim for perfect "whiter" face/skin #IndirectRacismspotted
Online payment stuffs like Paytm, PhonePe, Google pay apps based ads are still nice as it's encouraging ppl to choose online payments. I won't say anything about it here more.
But ads like.. SRK saying Denver is my scent of perfection/success is absurd. I'm not hating srk, but "big and rich" actors like him need to stop lying ppl for ads. Man never used Denver when he started his acting career. It's disappointing to see ppl like him lie for ads. He has enough money he doesn't needs to do such ads yk. His success was with his hardwork, and opportunities given by certain ppl, his fans, not any perfume. They use it as catch phrase ik, but as a critic i think there's nothing cool about Lying to his fans who will immediately rush and buy an item they see their idols doing ad of. Do u think so many actors who advertise Fair and Lovely and Lux and claim it's used by em, actually use it?! :*) jhut bolni ki bhi had hoti h yar- i don't think they should lie to their fans who respect em so much for just an ad?! There are many ways to advertise stuff, not by lying that u use a product always which u don't?! I once used to be his fan but the way he changed and his movie quality degraded even if his old movies were amazing... plus the fact he cooperates and supports a bitchy corrupt govt's cm like Mamta Banerjee makes me feel cringe now. Like we locals know how shitty her rule has made bengal. And how easily everything is corrupted here thanks to her government.
No hate but yeah. Makes no sense how an actor like him respects that filthy woman due to whom so many ppl here suffered and still suffers. There's reaosn why some ppl say Mamta is like Imran khan of bengal lmao. If i was srk I'd really not try to act good with any politicians like that even for formalities. It feels disgusting ngl.
Then we have an ad of Manfrost/Durex condom. I don't think it's something to be shown on a family/kids friendly channel like Sab TV yet they show those sexualised/lusty ads on it often!? The motiv is pretty good, ppl should absolutely use condoms and protect themselves, the tempt-technique of ad was to attract ppl too but sometimes it's just too much- lol
