25 September, 2022.Youtube and Wattpad both gives lotta ads, but i think they pay more ppl than wattpad does especially the new "Youtube Shorts Funds" which doesn't even require to be in the Youtube Partner Program,
Unless its a paid book no author is actually earning here by sharing their precious works, no matter how much the reads or votes ;-; while ppl getting money by making random vlog on what they're eating at a random dine out ;-;
It just feels kinda wrong that the only way to earn here is to become Wattpad Stars which is such a rare thing and has many requirements. Plus unlike youtube where ppl can earn without watchers having to pay anything specifically for watching it, for these paid books writer earn only when they're paid by some readers. As far as I know, Wattpad isn't so poor to do schemes like youtube at least some extent more, as there are so many amazing authors here and ppl have to see fucking long ads to read books every few parts and i think they shud at least get something from the ad revenue if they choose to. And then we've the requirements for Wattpad Stars that "It doesn't allows ff, non-fictions and poetry" i mean wtf?! Why is poetry always isolated, treated different from other writeups when it's an equally powerful art just like any other story writing ?! Ngl, but poetry is such a fine art, it feels unjust saying it's lower standard than a story book.
