- No! - Sheriff shouted running outside and Y/n followed - Noble - called kneeling beside the mayor and Wednesday got out of the car in shock, for a few moments Y/n tried to decide whether to follow the car or try to help the mayor - Call 911! Get an ambulance! - he yelled looking at Y/n and then at Wednesday, with that Y/n stayed and called 911, after that she texted Xavier "Come quick to weathervane!"

Right after the sheriff talked to the hospital attendant over the phone about the mayor, Xavier walked in and Y/n waved him to sit at the table she was at, meanwhile the sheriff sat at another table to talk to Wednesday.

Xavier sat beside Y/n and took her hand but she let go and hugged him who hugged her back.

- What happened? - he asked breaking the hug and looking into her eyes noticing they are turning (reader's eye color).

- He's alive. Barely. I'll take you back after I get your statement. - Y/n heard the Sheriff talk to Wednesday and sighed in relief.

- Someone tried to kill the mayor, he got run over... - Y/n replied to Xavier who was stunned.

- I already gave it to your deputy. Blue Cadillac with no license plates. - Wednesday said.

- Does anyone know who it was? - Xavier asked.

- Yeah, I know. I want a better one. What were you doing in the mayor's SUV? - the Sheriff asked.

- No, I was going to follow the car, flying, but I stayed to call 911. - Y/n said.

- I saw him coming out of the Gates mansion. - Wednesday replied.

- And where have you been? I sent so many messages, I was distressed... - Xavier spoke and Y/n whispered a "Shh".

- The Gates mansion. What the hell were you doing there? - the Sheriff asked Wednesday.

- Not here, Xavier, I'm still mad but we'll talk later... Okay? - Y/n asked and he nodded.

- House hunting. I overheard the voicemail he left you. I was intrigued. - Wednesday said.

- Why are you still here? Do you still need to talk to the sheriff? - Xavier asked holding Y/n's hands.

- Back when the mayor was sheriff, he used to have a lot of wild theories on cases that he couldn't solve. So... we'd dissect them over pie, sitting right back there in that booth. Most of the time they went nowhere. - the Sheriff said.

- Keep it down, I'm listening to what they're talking about. - Y/n said in a low tone and Xavier nodded.

- Call me old-fashioned, but when someone is run over on their way to give the police key information, it usually means they were onto something. And all signs point to the Gates family and that house. - Wednesday spoke.

- I can't hear nothin' they're saying. - Xavier said and Y/n whispered a "Shh" again.

- The Gates family. How? They're all dead. Every last one of them. And I don't believe in ghosts. - the Sheriff said.

- Because you're human Xavier, right? - Y/n said and he let out a "Hm" looking to the side and she couldn't help but mistrust him at times.

- Maybe you should. - Wednesday said said getting up, grabbing her bag and leaving, just like that.

- Can we go now? - Xavier asked.

- Yes.

They went back to Nevermore and Principal Weems was waiting for them at the entrance with a fake smile.

- Miss L/n, Wednesday, in my office, please. - Weems said turning and walking - Xavier you can go to your room.

Y/n whispered a " See you later, Xav." and he let go of her hand and kissed her cheek then went to the bedroom.

{ Weems' Office}

- How do you end up at the center of every terrible thing that happens here? - Weems talked to Wednesday while Y/n was sitting in the armchair using her phone.

- Incredible luck. - Wednesday said and Y/n rolled her eyes.

- As of now, the school is on full lockdown, and your off-campus privileges are revoked until further notice. - Weems announced and let Wednesday leave.

- I'm sorry for you to see this, miss L/n. - Weems started and Y/n turned off her phone - Obviously, the lockdown doesn't include you. I have to ask, miss L/n, didn't you actually see who ran over the mayor? Do you think it has something to do with the monster? - She asked.

- I didn't really see it, but I'm sure it was either the Hyde, or his commander. - Y/n replied.

- How are you so sure? - Weems asked.

- I just feel it... - she said.

- Okay, you can go now, Miss L/n. - Weems said and Y/n left.

Y/n went to the bedroom and Xavier was lying on her bed and she sat down next to him and he sat down too.

- Now you're going to explain yourself, Xavier, and I'm going to decide if it's valid, be quick because I'm exhausted. - she crossed her arms as she spoke seriously.

- I... I've thought about this a lot, I'll be completely honest. - He said and she nodded - First, I painted that picture before I was sure I loved you, back in Rave'N, when you said we'd just be friends. Second, as soon as I realized I really love you, I noticed I had a kinda sick, pointless obsession with Wednesday, but that's over, it's over, I love u and the obsession is gone, I swear. Third, I threw the painting away and now all that's left are paintings of you... And the monster, but we leave it as... - before he finished Y/n hugged him tightly smiling and he was in shock for a few seconds and hugged her back.

- Okay, it's valid... - she said and he smiled almost crying on her shoulder - I love you, Xav, it's not going to be some bullshit like that that's going to make me give up on us, don't worry. Oh, and tomorrow we'll talk about where I've been, I promise. But I NEED to sleep now. - she said breaking the hug and putting her hands on his shoulders and she gave him a long peck.
