– Seriously, you wanna go in there? This place is creepy as fuck. – Enid said, the three in front of the entrance to the mansion.

– I know. – Wednesday said opening the lock in an unknown way.

– Okay. This isn't what I signed on for. – Enid said.

– Ditto. – Tyler and Y/n said in unison.

–I didn't want to celebrate my birthday by going to dinner or a surprise party. I want to do this. – Wednesday said entering the place after open the lock.

– Then you shoulda just said so. You didn't have to trick us. – Tyler said.

– If you want to go, you can. I'm going to go check out the garage. – Wednesday said and they followed her with their flashlights on.

– Let me try. – Tyler said to Wednesday who failed trying to open the garage doors but he failed too – This is pointless. – he said giving up.

– Can I try? – Enid asked handing her flashlight to Y/n and successfully opened the doors.

– Whoa. – Y/n said surprised.

– Werewolf thing. – Enid said and they entered the garage as Wednesday turned on the light that was failing.

– This is the car that hit the mayor. – Y/n said pointing the flashlight.

– Okay. This just took a dark turn. We need to call Tyler's dad right freaking now. – Enid said with fear in her voice and Y/n put an arm around her shoulders that seems to relax.

– Why? So he can take me back to Nevermore and get me expelled? It's not gonna happen. – Wednesday said and went to the stairs that gave access to the house, opened the door and walked in, followed by Y/n who held Enid's hand behind her.

– This is the night I'm gonna die. – Tyler said coming in last and Enid whimper quietly, they walked down the hall and Wednesday stopped in front of the painting of the Gates family.

After looking at the painting for a few seconds they followed Wednesday who opened doors and doors but there was nothing that interested her, so she opened the door that led to the bookshelf.

Wednesday looked for books that might hold the key to opening a secret compartment and Y/n lit up the emblems between the shelves.

– Seen enough? – Tyler asked beside Y/n who pressed one of the emblems and they heard gears creaking and whirring, machinery creaking and skidding to reveal an altar extolling Joseph Crackstone and Enid whimpers uncomfortably.

– Who doesn't have a spooky built-in altar in their family library? – Enid said.

–Ours is in the living room. – Wednesday said and Tyler looked at her surprised, or shocked – More seating for year-long Dia de los Muertos. – she said and Enid whimper again making Y/n notice that Enid does that when she's scared.

– My father had an altar for my mother, he said she whispered things to him sometimes. – Y/n said as Wednesday approached the altar to take a closer look.

– What do you mean with "had"? – Wednesday asked suspiciously and Y/n didn't replied and Wednesday paid attention to the writing on the wall and widened her eyes and Tyler noticed.

– What happened? – he asked.

– That, "blood will rain", that already happened, this must be part of the prophecy. – Wednesday replied, touching the painted phrase.

– They're still warm. – Y/n said to distract them from this matter and Enid whimper.

– Alright Tyler, you check the rest of the ground floor. We will search upstairs. – Wednesday said going to the stairs followed by Y/n who held Enid's hand again.
