{ Day after the book disappears}
– I'm not going to attend classes today, Xav. I'm going to look for the book, but I don't want you to get in trouble so you better go to class... – Y/n said hugging him from behind giving him a light bite on his arm while Xavier fixed his uniform.
– Uh, okay, I can help you after school then, if you haven't already found the book. – he said turning around and holding her face with both hands and giving her a peck.
– It's a very important book for me, I need to find it... – Y/n said resting her head on his chest sighing and Xavier hugged her tight.
– You will find it. See you on the quad at lunch? – he asked, Y/n looked at him nodding, they left the room and Xavier kissed her again.
– Good class, Xav.
– Thank you, my love. – they went to opposite sides.
Y/n went to Principal Weems office finding her reading some stuff, she entered the room and closed the door.
– Miss L/n, what are you doing outside of class? – Weems asked smiling.
– I need help, the book has disappeared. – Y/n replied sitting across from Weems.
– Which book? – Weems asked.
– You know exactly what's the only book I would care about... – Y/n said rolling her eyes.
– But your book was safe in the secret library.
– I took it out, there are some Nightshades books that mention the compartment the book was in, and although the current members don't care much to read, I didn't want to risk leaving it there. Will you help me or not? – Y/n asked.
– I'm going to send some people to look for the book in every room and corner of the school, while the students are distracted in the classrooms. I will also look at the cameras. – Weems said.
– Sounds good to me. Thank you, Weems. I'll look around town, maybe someone will mention a big red book out there. – Y/n said leaving without waiting for Weems to respond.
Y/n left Nevermore flying to Jericho and when she arrived she was invisible.
She passed Uriah's Heap, Pilgrim World, the cathedral, a few shops, the police station, even the Mayor's office, but no one mentioned anything like her book and there weren't many places in town to hide a book as big as that.
Y/n went to the door of the Weathervane and became visible walking in the place, maybe Tyler knew something.
– Hello, Ty. – she said leaning on the counter.
– Hi, Y/n, as far as I know it's still class time... – he replied definitely in a bad mood.
– I'm looking for something, a book. And a lot of people go through Weathervane, so I thought maybe you could help me. – she said and Tyler changed from upset to curious.
– What kind of book? – he asked.
– One of the kind that doesn't go unnoticed, big, red cover... – Y/n replied – Maybe you've heard of something like this, or seen it.
– I don't remember hearing anyone talk about a book like that here and I definitely haven't seen it. – he said thoughtfully – How important is this book to you? It must be very important for you to make you miss a day of class...
– It's extremely important, Ty... Well, thanks for the help anyway, maybe you could let your dad know that if he finds someone with a similar book, call me right away, can you do that? – she asked smiling.
– Sure, but I don't think I have your number, uh... – he said taking a napkin and a pen – You can write it down here. – she wrote down the number and handed it to him.
– Thank you, Ty. – Y/n said smiling to him and leaving.
Y/n got out of the Weathervane, sighed in frustration and flew back to Nevermore, it was almost time for classes to end, so she went back to the Weems office.
– Did you find the book? – Y/n asked with a shred of hope.
– I'm really sorry, but no, it's not anywhere in the school, not even the hidden places. – Weems replied – Oh, and the cameras don't show anyone but you and Xavier coming in and out this week. Perhaps he...
– No, I would know if he did it. – Y/n said.
– Well, there is no camera that shows your window, maybe someone got in through it. – Weems said and the bell announcing the end of classes rang.
– Makes sense, I may never find it again... – she replied in a sad tone – Thanks for the help anyway Weems. – she said and left the room going to the quad.
Y/n saw Enid, Wednesday, Ajax and Xavier at one of the tables and went to them sitting next to Xavier giving him a peck.
– Own, they are so cute, aren't they Wednesday? – Enid said and Wednesday ignored her as Y/n blushed.
– Any luck looking for the book? – Xavier asked.
– Unfortunately, not. – Y/n replied.
– Which book? – asked Ajax.
– Yeah, what book, Y/n? – Enid asked curious and smiling.
– Well, it's the book that tells my whole story, someone stole it, but apparently it wasn't anyone from Nevermore, without this book maybe I'll never know what i've lived before. – she replied.
– Oh, this is horrible. – Enid said making a sad face.
– Yeah, maybe it was time for me to stop dreading the past... – Y/n said, Xavier put his hand on her thigh and she looked at him smiling.
– I hear about almost everything that happens here, so if I find out about your book, I'll let you know, we're a team, you can count on us. – Enid said grabbing Ajax's arm who nodded – Wednesday...
– Yes, you can count on us. – Wednesday said deadpan as usual and Y/n smiled – What does the book look like?
– It's a very big book with a red cover, it has my name written in gold, it's easy to recognize. – Y/n said – Thank you for wanting to help me.
– I already said, we are a team! – said Enid smiling and taking Y/n's hand that was on the table.
