Sky and Mason went to work two days after Xandra was born. After a week back on the job Sky was ready to collapse, she was exhausted, Xandra cried every couple of hours and then she and Mason had to figure out what was wrong. Mostly she wanted to drink and other times she had to get her diaper changed; that also took a while for them to figure out. All in all, Sky just wanted to sleep a full night. How does Lucy do it? She has so many and so close together?
"Honey, you look exhausted. The little one still keeps you guys up most of the night?" Lucy surprised Sky out of her thoughts.
"Wha...oh, yeah. How long until we can sleep all night again?"
"I would say three to nine months, but it depends. Don't worry she will sleep for longer stretches of times and you will get used to it very soon."
"Let's hope she will be able to sleep for longer periods at a time soon, because I am constantly trying to figure out why she is crying...and here we go again! I have no idea why she is crying this time," Xandra had started to cry while the two were talking.
"Honey, you need to calm down. The baby can sense when you are frustrated and angry and it will agitate it, causing it to cry. Try feeding it, if that doesn't work you can change it's diaper if it's full, or you could give it to me for a few minutes and I can carry mine and yours for a while," Lucy tried to help, Sky was frazzled and ready to throw the baby across the field. She handed the still crying baby over to Lucy.
"Thank you. I don't think I was made to be a mother. I am terrible at it. Mason can just pick her up in the middle of the night and she stops fussing or crying, while I was there trying to get her to shut up for the last two hours," Sky was close to tears "I never thought this would be easy, but I didn't think t would be this hard."
"Sky, this is your first baby, and you have no one to show you the ropes. I am here and will help you as much as I can, but there are many things you will learn on your own. You will do better and know more for your next one, I can guarantee it," Lucy told her soothingly rocking the now sleeping baby in her arms. Lucy gave Xandra back to her mother. Sky placed her in the little pouch that Lucy had shown her how to make on her first day back on the job. They then proceeded to work in the field.

One more week passed and the new parents slowly learned to take care of their daughter. When Xandra turned three weeks Sky and Mason had their week off from work, they looked forward to it and couldn't wait to spend some time as a new family and get some much needed rest. Alas that did not happen, not really. The first day they had gotten off they also got a key to open the locked door that had been staring at Sky since they had gotten to the apartment. Sky figured it would be like the hallway and rooms in Lucy's apartment. When the lady that brought the key unlocked it Mason and Sky both entered and looked around, then the woman left with the key. Sky saw that there were multiple rooms and a bathroom at the end of the long hallway, she counted four doors on each side of the corridor.
"Wow! This is crazy shit! Mase there are a lot of rooms!" Sky exclaimed and turned to face Mason. He looked up from his daughter.
"Euh, yeah. It's real nice. I wonder why there are so many rooms, we could move into one of these instead of sleeping on the one in the other room."
"That is a great idea. It is right in front of the door," Sky replied absently, and wondered which room she wanted as her own.
"I think we should take the last room on the right, it looks like the biggest one and it has a door connected to the bathroom in there," Mason called from the other end of the hallway. Sky hadn't even noticed that he'd walked away. She ran and caught up with him.
