As her vision came into focus she noticed a man with intense grey eyes, a man with an asterisks scar on his cheek, her eyes opened wide and she whispered "Blair".

The last thing Hanna saw was the mans face and his words echoing in her brain "I have finally found you. You will finally be mine." The darkness overtook her.

Hanna was hurdled back to when she was eight and was so innocent she had thought that the nice man with the grey eyes wanted to give her candy in his van. She was lucky that her mother saw and took her away; her mother had scolded her so severely about talking to strange men, especially since he wanted to give her candy. At that point in her life she hadn't understood what was wrong with taking candy from a stranger, but a few nights later she did, and the events had shattered her innocence. She remembered how she had been a sleep and how she had woken up to screaming. Her mother was screaming in pain, she wanted to run to her and comfort her but the terror she heard in that scream made her cringe and burrow deep in her bed. The screaming cut off abruptly, and the silence that filled the house was almost worse than the screaming. Hanna wanted to run away, but she would never find anywhere to go, she only had her mother. Hanna heard heavy boots hitting the steps on the stairs as the intruder made his way closer to where she was hiding. Hanna slid out of bed and silently made her way behind her bed where there was a small crawl space under the bed. Hanna knew that whoever was in the house could not see her and she truly hopped he had no idea that she was in the house.

The footsteps stopped in her bedroom doorway, Hanna heard a soft deep chuckle a man's voice whisper

"It's just me and you now, sweetheart. Let's have some fun." That voice sent chills down her spine.

As the man advanced towards the bed and Hanna's hiding spot, she shrank back until her whole body was plastered to the board that was hiding her from view. He grabbed the bed frame and yanked it from its spot, the girl screamed as she was exposed to the awful man.

"Ah, the innocent flower, ready to be plucked." The girl shuddered and tried to back away from him, but he reached out and grabbed her arm and yanked her towards him. His breath stank and he had intense grey eyes, Hanna could feel the power and self-confidence rolling off the man in waves, there was enough to make her choke. "You are perfect for my son," he said and yanked her up to a standing position. The man dragged her towards his vehicle, she struggled and started to cry, she screamed when she saw her mother mutilated body. Hanna's mother was sprawled on the ground in the kitchen her beautiful red dress she had been wearing for her birthday had been shredded and torn from her body. The blood was pooling around her, blending with the red of her dress and dying her hair red. Her face had a shocked expression and her mouth was open in a silent scream. Hanna collapsed and screamed in agony, the man still had a firm grip on her arm; he started to drag her towards the door. She tried to get away and continued to scream, she was flailing her arms and trying to get away from the man. In the distant sirens could be heard, the man looked towards the van, the door opened and another man stepped out, he saw Hanna and then looked at the first man.

"Blair, what happened? You're covered in blood, did this child bite you or something?" the second man said as he took Hanna's other arm.

"Nah, her mother was up and she caused some trouble, she is out of the picture now," the first man, Blair, said with a chuckle. The second man just shook his head but before he could respond they heard the sirens coming closer, the two man looked at each other and looked at the screaming child in between them. Then they saw the lights in the neighbours house go on and they tossed her in the back and closed the doors. They got into their van and peeled out of the neighbourhood before the police even turned onto the street. The darkness pressed all around Hanna, she stopped screaming after a while and realized that she needed to get out. She tried the door and found it unlocked, in the men's haste to get away they forgot to lock the doors. She opened it and threw herself onto the street, she got a huge scrape on her knees and her right forearm was a bloody mess, but she ignored the stinging and ran behind a bush. She hoped that they didn't realize that she was gone; they didn't, Hanna saw them disappear a round a corner and slowly made her way down the street towards her home. All she wanted was her bed and her mothers arms around her, rocking her back and forth like she does when Hanna wakes up from a nightmare. After walking for ten minutes she found herself on her street again; red and blue lights flashed in her driveway and there were so many people running in an out of her house. She made her way towards her house, a man in a uniform stopped her and asked what she was doing out of her house in the middle of the night. She realized that she was in her nightgown and that she probably looked like she just stepped out of a horror movie.

"Where are your parents, dear?" the kind officer asked her when she just looked at him in confusion. At the mention of her parents, her eyes welled up and she pointed at the house that was currently being occupied by men and woman in uniforms. The officers' eyebrows went up slightly but he didn't comment on the fact that she had come strolling down the street. He ushered her towards an ambulance, they gave her a blanket and looked at her wounds. The rest of the night was a blur, except when people came out of the house with a stretcher and a black bag on it, she saw it roll by and she just knew that her mother was inside.

Hanna found herself surrounded by many children in a home, she barely remembered her own mothers' funeral, and a few neighbours, co-workers and Hanna were present. Hanna was in an orphanage for a year before a family took her in as a foster child, she was there for two months before she went back to the orphanage, it went on like that for many years. She never understood why the families didn't want to keep her, but she figured that it had something to do with the nightmares and the screaming, they came every time she fell asleep. That was until she was eleven, an older couple that didn't have anymore children that lived at home took her in, after the second night they decided to bring her to a therapist. She slowly got better, and after two months of therapy she finally slept through the night without any nightmares. As the months went by she started to feel more confortable and the nightmares became fewer and might come to creep up on her once or twice a week. As she neared her twelfth year, the man had an accident and became paralyzed from the waist down. The family decided then that they could not keep her, and so she went back in to the system. The next family kept her for a week and then decided that she was too high maintenance. This was due to the fact that it was around the time when it would have been her mothers' birthday. At that point in her life she had given up on ever finding a new family, and her nightmares had started to come back. That was when the Glockers took her as their foster child, they desperately wanted a girl, and figured they should get one that was around the same age as their sons.

The Glockers learned all they could about Hanna, and her past, which was not a lot, all they learned was that her mother was murdered while she was in the house and she had gotten away from the men that had done it. Hanna still had the scar on her right forearm to prove it. They put her into therapy and she grew comfortable with the family, her nightmares subsided after a few weeks. She kept waiting for the day when the family would decide that they didn't want her anymore, but it never came. Three years later, at the age of sixteen, the parents, Fred and Clara, sat her down and asked her if she wanted to officially be apart of their family. She said yes, Hanna had finally found her family.

*~*

Hanna woke up in a moving vehicle, déjà vu, was all she could think about.

This is a nightmare, I must wake up, and this is not real. There must be a way to get out of this. I can't go through with this again! I had years of therapy and I was finally having the life I had before. This must be what I was intended to do, NO! I must escape! I must get out and go to the police. Hanna tried to figure out how to untie her hands and to open the door of the van.
