After an injury, Pedri González is left with frustration and pain, willing to sacrifice everything to play. When his then-girlfriend, Julia Soler, tried to talk him out of playing, he broke things off...
Things from there take a terrible turn for th...
The sound of cheers filled the air as the medal ceremony concluded, and the family members enthusiastically made their way towards the pitch. Julia, tears streaming down her face, was greeted by Gavi as he wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace.
"Gavi! You did it! Estoy tan orgulloso de ti." (I'm so proud of you.)
Julia exclaimed, almost jumping at him, wrapping her hands around his neck. She was reluctant to let go. Her parents, however, grew impatient and physically separated her from Gavi. She laughed it off and hugged her father as her mother had the opportunity to embrace the world champion. The entire family was in tears.
Subconsciously, Julia looked around for Pedri. She was about to approach him to congratulate him, but a blonde girl ran across the field to reach him just as her eyes finally caught him. Julia couldn't fully glimpse her face, but Pedri picked her up and swung her around. After setting the girl down on the ground, he grabbed her face smashing his lips on hers. Julia's face dropped and turned to a frown.
It couldn't be her. How could he- How could he date her? Why her? She was speechless. Ten feet across from her was her former best friend, Tifanny, kissing ironically with her ex-boyfriend. How could he do this? He knew what she did to her. He knew what kind of hell she put Julia through. He mugged her off. He told her all the things that a girl wanted to hear. He told her she was beautiful, special, deserved the best in life and should never be cheated on or left. That was a lie... She felt betrayed. He made her feel like she was nothing. Her sense of worth was destroyed. He was the first she ever fell in love with. The first she ever saw getting married to. It was now clear he wasn't ready to be serious at all. It didn't make it hurt less, though.
Pablo sensed her pain and turned her around, urging her not to worry about them. 'This is why I can't fall in love again,' she thought. Julia made an effort to ignore it because there was media coverage everywhere, and she wasn't about to be entangled in another controversy. She realised she needed to cut all ties and avoid seeing Pedri because her heart couldn't take it anymore. All these promises and lies had gotten to her. She put on a fake smile and acted that night as if she was okay. However, she knew the next few days that it would be difficult to keep up with the act as she would have to run into Pedri multiple times due to celebrations. It would also be hard for them not to see each other when his parents and hers were so close. Soon after, she noticed Pedri's parents, Maria and Fernando, inviting her parents over to their house for some family lunch.
Who knew life could go from being so good to so bad over the course of a few hours?
