Julia woke up in the early hours of the following morning feeling absolutely shit. She had spent the whole night tossing and turning, unable to shake the memory of Pedri's brazen question from her mind. And to make matters worse, she couldn't help but feel guilty about how she had left things with Lando. Despite his attempts to contact her, she couldn't bring herself to respond. She was still embarrassed and ashamed that she hadn't moved on from Pedri yet.

Just as she was about to drift off, her phone rang. Rubbing her tired eyes, she answered it without even bothering to look at the caller ID. "What?" she grumbled.

"Hey you, I'm standing outside your door. I have something to tell you," came the slurred voice on the other end of the line. It was Pedri, and he sounded like he was completely wasted.

"What?! What the fuck are you doing here? Are you crazy?" Julia exclaimed, shocked and annoyed.

"Ouch, don't yell," Pedri whined like a toddler. Without thinking, Julia got up and opened the door, and there he was, sitting on the stairs beside her apartment drunk.

"Lo siento," he slurred, getting up and swaying unsteadily. "Lo siento, Julia. I didn't mean to break your heart."

"Pedri, please stop. You have a girlfriend. Go tell her!" Julia protested.

"I broke up with her," Pedri confessed, sounding both regretful and relieved.

"What? Why?" Julia demanded, feeling a jolt of surprise.

"Will you stop yelling, woman?!" Pedri complained.

"I was jealous," he admitted. "Jealous of seeing you and Lando getting along so well. After we had just made peace, it hurt to see you moving on. That's why I went out with Tifanny. I know it was wrong, but I couldn't just watch you fall in love with someone else."

"Pedri, Lando and I were never a thing," Julia said, her voice softening. "We could never be a thing because I can't love anyone the way I loved you." Tears began to well up in her eyes, and Pedri's expression softened as he held her close, comforting her as she cried.

"Why did we let it go this far?" he murmured, his voice thick with emotion and pulled away.

"God, you're perfect," Pedri whispered before lifting Julia's chin and kissing her tenderly. The kiss was slow and sweet, a far cry from the rushed, heated kisses they had shared before. As they pulled away, they stared into each other's eyes, Julia biting her lip nervously.

"I- i gotta go. And you should go home Pedri." She said while she walked backwards.

"I can't." His voice cracked while he grabbed her wrists. The touch of his cold hands against her skin made her hold her breath. The pain she was hiding since they broke up suddenly came back.

"You're my home."

Suddenly, Pedri slumped forward, passed out from too much alcohol. Julia quickly reached for her phone and called Fernando to come and pick him up. She knew that she couldn't let Pedri stay the night; the awkwardness they would feel in the morning was not worth it.
