Julia was eagerly getting ready to attend Ansu's all-white birthday bash. A celebration, she had been looking forward to for weeks. She had meticulously selected the perfect outfit for the occasion and was now humming along to her favourite playlist as she applied mascara, admiring her reflection in the mirror. A knock at the door signalled Lando's arrival, her plus-one for the evening. Upon opening the door, Lando's eyes widened in sheer surprise at the sight of Julia. She looked stunning in her white dress, and he couldn't take his eyes off her.

"Wow, you look absolutely gorgeous!" Lando managed to stammer, his attempt to regain his composure evident.

"Aww, thank you. You look handsome, too," Julia giggled.

"Shall we?" Lando asked, extending his arm towards the door, offering to lead the way.

"Yeah we shall." she replied, a smile adorning her face as she took his arm, and they strolled toward the car.

 [...]

As they stepped into the lively nightclub, a guy whispered loudly to his friend, "She's hot! Look at her body." Julia chose to ignore the comment, her focus locked on the dancing crowd as they made their way to the bar. Ansu, the guest of honor, soon joined them, offering a warm welcome and helping them ease into the energetic atmosphere.

"Happy birthday," Julia exclaimed as she ran into his arms and handed him his gift.

"Thank you, Julia! Come, you gotta sing – we have a karaoke bar," Ansu encouraged, pulling her toward the stage.

"I don't know, Ansu-" she began, but before she could voice her concerns, he interrupted.

"You'll do great!" he reassured her. She made her way to the stage and tapped the mike to grab everyone's attention.

"How is everyone tonight?! I wasn't expecting to do this, but because it's Ansu's birthday, I will make this one exception," she announced, winking at him. The DJ started fiddling with his machine and displayed the song meant to be sung: Deja Vu by Olivia Rodrigo. Julia couldn't help but feel a tinge of awkwardness in the air with Pedri and Tiffany both present in the same room.

Yet, despite the potential tension, everyone had already gotten their phones out at this point, the gentle glow of screens casting a shadow over their faces as they anticipated the spontaneous performance that was about to take place.

"Let's give a big round of applause for Julia Soler," the DJ introduced, and the crowd roared with excitement.

She looked around the room until her eyes met his, and then turned to face him squarely. She turned to him, a mixture of emotions playing across her face, a bittersweet smirk forming. As she began to sing, the memories of Pedri's words and the haunting images she had seen flooded her mind. He had thrown everything away they had for nothing.

"Did you cheat on her?" Ronald Araújo inquired.

Pedri hesitated before responding, "No, not really. We were on a break".

Julia sang from the heart, her fist clenched as hot tears stained her face. When she finished, she smiled through the emotional turmoil and walked off the stage to a cheering crowd.

"You were amazing!" Lando said, completely blown away by her voice.

"Really?" she asked uncertainly, not sure if he was being truthful. He nodded cutely in response. The music had now been turned down as the karaoke time had ended.

"Let's grab you a drink at the bar. I'll be right back," he said in his British accent, kissing her on the cheek before walking away. As she watched him leave, someone grabbed her arm aggressively. She turned and saw Pedri holding her, a smirk on his face.

"Are you jealous?"

"Jealous of what?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Of the girl I'm dating." Pedri said, getting closer than she was comfortable with.

"Her? That's great for you. Why would I envy someone who means nothing to you?" she asked, tilting her head.

Pedri chuckled and responded cockily, "How do you know we're not serious?"

"Well, the fact that you are asking if I am jealous implies why you got together with her." Julia said, seeing right through Pedri's jealousy. She knew he had deliberately hurt her by dating her ex-best friend. Pedri was silenced and didn't know what to say. Julia was right - he had let jealousy get the best of him.

"What did I do to you? You broke up with me, for fuck's sake! You derserve a medal for how quickly you got over me, and then you had the audacity to date that girl. It's like we never happened. Like the last three years meant nothing. Did you ever love me at all? Fuck you, Pedri. Honestly, fuck you."

Julia said, laughing and smiling but with tears brimming in her eyes. She brushed Pedri's arm away and walked toward Lando, putting on a fake smile and acting as if nothing had happened. She danced with him, trying to forget the pain of Pedri's betrayal. Feeling sad and unable to handle seeing Julia with another guy, Pedri decided to leave the party. He also broke things off with Tiffany, knowing it wasn't fair to lead her on.

In a drunken stupor, Lando closed in on her, his lips brushing against hers. She gently pushed him away, trying not to cause a commotion.

"I- I can't..." she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I think you're great, Lando. I'm so sorry. I just don't think that right now is a good time." she added, her voice quivering with emotion. With that, she hugged him tightly and left the party alone. He cursed internally and watched her go, feeling the sting of rejection.
