Julia had become close friends with Lando Norris after he sent her a direct message congratulating her on graduation. They shared similar interests and talked frequently, and as time passed, they had grown inseparable. Lando was not only a talented racing driver but also a humble person, and they had always talked about meeting up in person. And they were finally making it happen because Lando had the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. He came two and a half weeks early to explore the city with Julia. They had planned to meet at his hotel, and Julia didn't think she needed her bodyguard Ross to accompany her since it was nearby. Nevertheless, as soon as she stepped out of her car, the clicks and murmurs that were coming her way interrupted her thoughts.
"Julia! Julia! Who are you taking to bed tonight?"
Julia started to tremble and huff as the photographers circled her on the street, making it difficult for her to focus on anything else but them. Julia didn't think they'd notice her because she was dressed all in black. Despite this, she was still bombarded with cameras and flashes. She considered turning around, but the walls seemed to be closing in on her.
"Back up! Get the hell away from her!" Lando shouted as he stepped in front of Julia and took her hand. His protective side came out. The reporters seemed to get closer and more aggressive the further they moved. With all the pushing and yelling, Julia could feel herself beginning to panic, and Lando could tell by the way she gripped his hand.
"It's alright. I'm here. Try to shut it out." He murmured while wrapping his arms securely around Julia, sensing her nerves. This was one of the things they had connected on because they both battled with mental health.
"Are you okay?" Lando asked as they entered his hotel room, and Julia instantly hugged him. She threw her arms and legs around him as he picked her up.
"Thank you so much. I'm sorry I didn't get to properly welcome you" She exhaled, releasing a breath she had been holding.
"Hey it's okay. I'm just happy that you are here." He said, sitting on the bed with her still in his arms.
"Me too." She replied and snuggled her head in the crook of his neck.
The next few days, paparazzi followed them several times, but thankfully they had security to protect them. They had become incredibly close. Even Pedri had noticed this. He first noticed them in the club, dancing together closely. Later, Pedri ran into them at her parent's house, where they sat and began playing the piano. They were sitting very close; his hand was on her back while she sang. Lando was staring at her continuously, and she was blushing at his intense gaze.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Julia asked.
"Because you're beautiful." Lando said.
For some unknown reason, Pedri felt jealous that Julia was talking with a new guy. He almost wanted to punch the guy in the face. Pedri rolled his eyes, concluding that it was time to move on since Julia already appeared to have done so. He went to the club searching for a hot girl interested in having a one-night stand. That's where he met Tiffany. This wasn't the first time he'd seen her. He knew of her previously because she was Julia's best friend. Big emphasis on 'was'. Tiffany liked to bully poor and innocent people or the ones who got in her way. Julia objected to that and confronted her. Out of rage, she made everyone believe that Julia was a freak. She made snide comments like "She'll need plastic surgery when she grows up" or "She must've been adopted". Tiffany was terrible news, but Pedri wanted to hurt her the same way she did him. This was a new low even for him.
