After what seemed like an eternity, Julia was finally discharged from the hospital, and in the comfort of her own home. Her recovery had been filled with ups and downs, but Pedri had been there for her every step. He held her hand and told her silly jokes to keep her spirits high, and she couldn't help but smile even on her darkest days. However, as she settled in, she couldn't help but notice Pedri's absence. It felt as though he was deliberately avoiding her, unwilling to confront the pain he had caused. This behavior left Julia frustrated, as she couldn't comprehend why he ignored her and failed to acknowledge her feelings. She knew forgiving him wouldn't be easy, but she would try if he only talked to her.

Seeking a distraction from her troubled thoughts, Julia turned on the TV. Absentmindedly scrolling through the channels, she unexpectedly stumbled upon Pedri's familiar face on the screen. He was being interviewed about his latest game, and she couldn't help but feel hurt as she watched him passionately discussing his performance. To her dismay, Tiffany appeared on the screen beside him, laughing and touching his arm. Julia's heart sank, realising that Pedri had gotten back with Tiffany. It was a lie. He lied. He is a liar. He is a liar, and a cheat.

Disappointed would be an understatement to describe her emotions in that moment. She swiftly switched off the TV, tears streaming down her face, and slumped onto the sofa. How could he do this to her again, and with Tiffany of all people? Julia reached for her guitar and started strumming. She had been vigorously working on a song called "Arcade" for hours on end, so much so that she fell asleep on the couch with her guitar cradled in her arms. Pedri found her there later, unable to reach her by phone or text. He saw her sleeping peacefully and couldn't help but feel a nudge of regret for causing her pain. Carefully, he pried the instrument from her grasp and lifted her into his arms.

Julia's eyes snapped open by her sudden realization that she had dozed off. Her gaze immediately landed on the guitar resting on the table, but something caught her attention—a presence behind her.

 'What the hell?' she thought.

A jolt of fear shot through her as she turned around and saw Pedri lying behind her, snoring softly. She tried to wriggle out of his hold, but his arms were wrapped tightly around her, pulling her closer. Julia's heart began to race with anxiety.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice shaking.

"I'm sorry. I know I messed up, Julia. I just...I wanted to see you." Pedri stirred, blinking sleepily and loosening his hold on her.

"You ruined what we had, Pedri. How can I ever trust you again?"

"I made a mistake, and I know it's going to take time to rebuild our relationship. But I'm willing to do whatever it takes to earn back your trust," Pedri reached out to touch her, but she flinched and pulled away. She held her tongue. She couldn't bring herself to utter a word to Pedri, not after what he had put her through.

"Say something!" He begged, his frustration palpable. She knew that any words she spoke would be laced with bitterness and anger. She watched silently as Pedri gathered his things, ready to leave.

"Don't just walk away!" she said, her voice rising.

"It's not that simple, Pedri. You can't just waltz back into my life and expect everything to be okay. You shattered my heart. You gave me hope for a future together, only to crush it. You temporarily fixed it, but then you broke it again. I can't forgive you for that."

Pedri looked at Julia, and his face twisted in pain. "I understand," he said, his voice hoarse. "I don't expect you to forgive me. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am and that I still care about you."

Julia shook her head for what seemed like the hundred time, her anger and hurt boiling inside her.

"I can't, Pedri. I can't trust you again. I can't let you back into my life, knowing that you could break my heart again. I deserve to be with someone who won't break my heart again."

"I'll go now. I  just wanted you to know how I feel," he said, his expression crestfallen as he got up and walked towards the door. Julia watched as Pedri left, feeling a mix of sadness and anger. She knew she had to protect herself and her heart, even if it meant shutting Pedri out of her life. She couldn't risk being hurt again, not after everything she had been through. She went inside and cried that night and the nights after that, mourning the loss of what she had thought was eternal love.
