while busy at work, minho let out a soft huff as he felt a head fall into his lap.

"would it kill you to pay attention to your boyfriend for one. little. minute?" jisung whined, going as far as to shuffle his head around just like a cat getting comfortable in their owner's lap.

one thing about jisung was that he didn't mind his own company. but, when he was purposefully being ignored or starved of affection for longer than he could stand, he always made sure to seek out attention from his boyfriend.

the older sighed as he continued to type away on his laptop, reading through the paperwork he'd lifted up into the air in an attempt for his position to remain undisturbed.

all the while refusing to spare a glance at the pouting ravenette who was looking up at him with an expectant gaze.

"sungie, i gave you attention five minutes ago." minho huffed as he quickly jotted something down on a notepad before typing away on his laptop so he didn't forget his train of thought. "i need to do my work."

jisung scoffed as he sat up, cupping minho's chin as he forced the older to make eye contact, his heart dropping slightly at minho's tired expression.

"minho...you've been in here for too long without a break. you so much as looked at me two hours ago."

"it has not been two hours ji-"

"-it has!" jisung protested, dropping his hands into his lap as minho turned back to his work. "you last spoke to me when we fed the cats and that was at lunch time!"

minho briefly glanced to the clock in the bottom right corner of his laptop.

"oh, sorry, love." minho shrugged as he turned back to jisung. "this won't take long."

he reached forward and softly patted jisung's cheek, immediately retracting his hand to resume typing away while occasionally making written notes in his journal.

the younger only sighed as he stood up from the couch in minho's office and trudged towards the door.

"that's what you said yesterday..." he mumbled to himself, trudging back to the bedroom where he'd had to sleep alone the night before.

hours passed since the pair's last interaction and jisung had still not received any attention.

in fact, he was so bored that because it was nearing 5pm, he decided to make dinner.

"look who's arrived!" jisung beamed as the couple's oldest cat tottered into the kitchen. "i was just about to make dinner for me and min if you'd like to keep me company."

with a prolonged meow, soonie jumped onto the counter and got himself comfortable as he stared at jisung.

"see!" jisung exclaimed as he began to tickle behind the cat's ears. "now how hard was that?"

the boy let out a small huff as he began preparing a quick and easy meal for the pair. after all, he wasn't sure if he wanted to go to so much effort if he was going to be eating alone.

the time was now nearing eight in the evening and minho was still very hard at work.

in fact, he'd been so focused that he hadn't heard jisung come in, nor heard him calling his name until a bowl was harshly placed on his desk next to where he was working.

"sung?"

"i'm going to bed." jisung harshly responded, walking to the door and slamming it behind him.
